As you know, he decided not to campaign this year, after so many years of losses. Maybe that's a good thing. Because Marty Scorsese tonight won the Directors Guild of America's top award for The Departed. It was his first victory in seven DGA tries. On the other hand, Clint Eastwood wasn't tapped by the DGA but he did get an Academy nod. At the DGA, Scorsese bested Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel), Bill Condon (Dreamgirls), Jonathan Dayton/Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine), Stephen Frears (The Queen). Likely, finally, it's Marty's year.
