So Quentin won’t have to strangle her any more. One of The New York Times’ Hollywood correspondents, Sharon Waxman, tells me that she is going on book leave starting July 1st for six months. (Her first, Rebels On The Backlot, was about Hollywood’s maverick directors like Tarantino et al. The new one is about antiquities looting.) There has been online speculation about what she’ll be covering after that. ”Several months ago, I asked my editors for a new challenge. After all, I’ve been covering Hollywood for 11 years now, four of them for the Times. But I don’t yet know what I’ll be doing,” she explains today. So what would she miss the least? ”Covering the Oscars, the most stressed-out 4 hours of my life every single year.”
