This is the tenth of the Writers Guild Of America member-conceived Internet videos for Project “Speechless” featuring A-list Screen Actors Guild talent. They are being hosted exclusively by DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com over Thanksgiving Weekend. For the first time in the TV and movie industry, high-profile SAG actors are together taking their talents directly and exclusively to the Internet, the very medium which is at the center of the current WGA labor strike against the Alliance Of Motion Picture & Television Producers. The project, conceived by director/writer George Hickenlooper and writer Alan Sereboff, will be releasing three videos here in the morning, afternoon and evening throughout this weekend. See them all!
(Mac users, the problems with Safari have been fixed.)
[In the interest of fairness and objectivity, I would be pleased to also debut a similar campaign conceived by members of AMPTP. But, as a journalist with a journalism outlet, I couldn't pass up any opportunity to have an exclusive.]

Ok, these aren’t working. I think Harvey’s is the best. He starts to open his mouth then says nothing. Holly’s was OK too. I saw a video on youtube last night that was a skit with a writer being told by a producer (or agent) that he wasn’t getting any money at all because everyone knows that writers work better when they are poor and depressed. That was funny but it really hit the point home. These videos, while it’s fun to see the actors, are really boring. Maybe they should all be put up at one time, that way we can click through them and Nikki can go back to reporting stuff.
These are getting repetitive and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
But I guess that’s the point.
“Zero cents, makes zero sense.”
Actors improvising is depressing.
this was def one of my favorites just because of the whole charlie brown throwback
These are all great. I love that SAG and all the actors are being so supportive of the writers, because after all, without the writers, they wouldn’t have a job, or they’d have to write their own scripts.
But anyway, I’m loving these vids. They’re so kewl. Just one question. I read that Patricia Arquette was doing one of these too. When are you gonna post hers?
A lot of these posts smell suspiciously like the dozens of hackers, who have paid by the AMTPT, to post anti-WGA propoganda on these message boards. These spots are good, and their intentions should make them beyond reproach. Unless of course, some poor desperate college kid is getting $500 dollars a day, paid directly by the AMTPT, to pollute these message boards with cynical rhetoric. If you read the negative postings carefully, they certainly don’t sound like the voice of concerned, thoughtful WGA mamebers.
“Hang on, hang on.. let’s pull your hair back into a ponytail so we can really see the Desperate Housewives shirt. … Perfect! Maybe, do something a bit different this time? How about the Charlie Brown teacher voice? *wah wah wah* PERFECT! That’s a wrap!”
i love nicollette!!! i love that the actor’s are very supportive!!

It doesn’t require any hacking whatsoever to post a comment in a public blog. Even you were able to muster enough technical ability to comment, so you must consider yourself quite proficient in hacking.

Do you have any concrete evidence of this assertion whatsoever?
If you read the negative postings carefully, they certainly don’t sound like the voice of concerned, thoughtful WGA mamebers.
Here’s another hypothesis: Perhaps a concerned, thoughtful WGA member disagrees with the implementation of the ad. Or perhaps an impartial observer disagrees with the concept. Or any one of countless other possibilities you have elected to ignore in favor of rambling paranoia. Not everyone commenting here is beholden to a special interest.
On an unrelated note, I would expect someone who goes by the handle “writerdude” to demonstrate greater proficiency in spelling, grammar, or stringing together words into a coherent sentence. You might consider using the downtime provided by the strike to take an entry-level English course.
This one seems counter-productive.
Maybe it’s just me, but the wa-wa-wa dialog seems on par with that of the actual show.
What a sad commentary on American culture.
While there’s no question that there has been some astroturfing and trolling on articles like this, it’s counterproductive to call anyone with any criticism of anything the writers do trolls or plants.
To be honest, I was looking forward to seeing these, but so far they just seem like a missed opportunity. They’re mostly boring, they come off as not being able to decide if they’re intentionally bad or not. I’m glad to see well known actors supporting the writers, but these don’t seem to be making much of a point. It probably doesn’t help that they don’t even say what they’re about, instead of just a website link, would it have killed them to have made some mention of writers being on strike?
