Someone (not I) was thoughtful enough to post PDFs of the screenplays on the Black List 2007 online. Now someone (not I) was smart enough to take them down. See my previous, Black List 2007′s Best Liked Screenplays.

Ummm that is SUCH copyright violating I can’t believe it.
Do you support the writers or …. I get it!
Don’t know about the rest of you cool guys, but I really appreciate this link. Always interested in reading what are considered to be the best scripts of the moment. Thanks Nikki.
This is a clear copyright violation.
And now they are gone…
Thanks anonymous strangers for posting them.
…and they’re all gone.
Damn.
Saved a few though. Bwahahahaha…
too late. overwhelmed.
Link’s not working now. Hope it’s only down temporarily.
Bouncing Castle, Nikki is just giving the rest of us (temporary) access to the material that anyone in any agency mailroom, anywhere, can read whenever they feel like. Plus, the writers’ copyrights aren’t the ones being violated, since they sign over their copyright when the script is sold (which most, if not all, of these are).
How is it copyright violation when websites like Simply Scripts has copies of tons of SOLD and UNSOLD scripts available to download for free and half the wannabe screenwriter population posts his or her latest masterpiece on the likes of Zoetrope and Trigger Street?
My question is…If these get shot during the strike, do they have to stay the same content-wise? Or is it just that if the scripts get re-written, it can only be by a non-union writer?
redblack
Nikki,
Any chance we can get access to those scripts again?
Thanks,
I got three before it went down. As a wannabe writer, it’s invaluable to see scripts like these – not shooting drafts, but fully polished nonetheless.
Course, I’d feel better about it if they were posted with the full permission of the writers…
For the record, the guy who created the Black List (a friend) had nothing to do with making any of the scripts on the list public, nor would he.
Can the person who posted these repost elsewhere? I assume it was somebody who didn’t make the list and wanted us to see what awful crap a lot of these scripts are. please, kind citizen, perform this public service again.
Congrats to everyone who made the list!
As a young aspiring non-WGA writer, obviously looking to honor the strike, I was wondering if it’s still acceptable to submit your SPEC screenplay to agencies? Or is this considered breaking the line?
Also, if that’s OK, any idea if it’d be a good time to submit now, or to wait til after the dust settles?
Thanks!
“Can the person who posted these repost elsewhere?”
Yes, please post them them again, so we can be certain who you are.
I can’t believe I checked out some of the PDF’s and completely forgot to see if “Justice League” was there. By the time I remembered, the link was gone. Anybody else confirm it was there and whether it’s been posted anywhere else?
anybody have these scripts zipped up in a file or know if those they have moved to a new location online?
Sherilyn – Where do the other half of the wannabe’s post? I’m looking for places to post my spec AFTER the Strike is Settled.
Pulling for the Writer’s, you really deserve better!
