UPDATED: Below are photos of an unscheduled upfront week event. Early this morning, because the sitcom Back to You had been cancelled, upset fans made a “memorial” in front of the gates at Fox studios. And the star of the sitcom Kelsey Grammar even posed for a picture beside it. (I just heard that Kelsey found out from my website Friday night that the show was cancelled!) I can confirm that “CBS has shown interest in Back To You.”) There were candles, balloons, floral bouquets, over 30 sympathy cards, neckties in honor of “Chuck”, and American flags. I was initially told that Fox security removed the memorial, but now fans are telling me it’s still there and even being expanded. But everyone connected to the show, especially showrunner Steve Levitan, knew about it and appreciated it.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

So tipical of Fox. Let’s hope CBS gives the show a second chance. The writing had greatly improved lately and the show had finally hit its stride.Kelsey and Patricia never disappointed throughout the show’s short run. Their chemistry was terrific and timing impeccable.
it’s not Kelsey’s fault Kevin Reilly got slapped with the stupid stick!
bring back BACK TO YOU!
Back to You should have never been on Fox. Any chance another network could pick it up?
What a tragedy!!! That is seriously the best show in air. We let Arrested Development go, I can’t believe we didn’t learn from our mistakes. (sigh)
for the record the memorial still stands, and people have been adding to it throughout the day.
Hello! I think this was absolutely great that fans of the show in the LA area put this together. It just shows more that there is great support for this show. I hope CBS caught eye of this!
Also, I just wanted to let people here know that we are beginning a “Save Back to You” compaign. All you have to do is send bottled water to:
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler
7800 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, 90036
I would love to see CBS pick up “Back to You” and it is so sad the treatment FOX gives its talent.
I never knew if it was going to be on week to week.
Fox programers should lose their jobs not the cast of “Back to You”.
It was good show that never really got a chance. I hope CBS gives it a second shot.
Brilliant idea for fans to show their support!!!! I can’t wait to get off work and add to the “memorial”. I hope Fox will take their viewers seriously. If not…… CBS help viewers out, we love the cast and the writing, PLEASE save this show!!!!
Don’t send bottled water. That is not environmental – waste of bottled water, waste of fuel to send it, etc.
Check out the “Save Back to You” Campaign & please join our efforts!!
Kelsey Grammar is a very talented man.
this would be a coup for CBS. like the golden calf just arrives on your doorstep. lucky lucky les.
les?…………….do the smart thing les.
BRING THIS SHOW BACK TO ME (YOU)!
This is one of the FEW shows I have consistently DVR’d this season….how ridiculously shortsighted of Fox to terminate it so soon, and if the rumor is true that CBS is considering picking it up, high kudos to them…I’m already DVR’ing much of their Monday night lineup, “Back to You” would make a FINE addition somewhere during the week!
How could anyone really gage a show’ potential in a writer’s strike? Stop/go. Network notes that spoiled a storyline that should have taken much more time to develop. Casting changes. And at very last minute, the Friday before upfronts begin on Monday, a dismissal notice. Classy, Fox, classy.
But class has never been your style. That’s for the other networks. Where hopefully this show will land and be appreciated. This is an Emmy caliber show and cast, if developed and protected. Why it ever landed on Fox to begin with is a mystery to me.

I really enjoyed this show and was always amazed it was on Fox. Hope it finds a home on a real network.
Such a shame. It’s so sad to see that Kelsey found out for himself online here and then to see him stand outside in front of the memorial.

We loved that show. I hope CBS picks it up. It had great laughs, esp. for a show that only was on a handful of times (first seasons are always a work in progress.) I was in awe of the supporting cast. They were perfect, I could forsee awards for them, they were just that strong. As strong as Kelsey and Patricia. Keeping my fingers crossed for another network to pick them up.
I am very saddened to hear that Kelsey Grammar heard of his show’s cancellation through Nikki Finke and not from his former network. My condolences on both the bad news and the tactless way in which it was handled.
Not that I am surprised because this is the same network that made one of its employees so stressed out / mad during the writers strike that the employee used his big black SUV to physically assault my show’s creator and former showrunner (Rene Balcer) around while legitimately picketing. Fox also covered for the employee, letting him hide behind the studio gates while the police were called.
Classy network, huh?
I am also seeing in the fan created memorial more evidence that network executives in fact do not know or appreciate what the heck they have or should do with it. Clearly there’s a demand for Back To You…why the execs can’t figure out how to make that pay is apparently beyond them.
The sooner these money-grubbing idiotic dinosaurs who run broadcast networks get ‘disintermediated’ from between the talent making shows and the viewers and fans who watch them, the better.
Wishing ‘Back To You’ fans all the best in their fight to get their show back.

I really hope CBS gives “Back to You” a chance. This show never had the chance to grow an audience at all, thanks to the writers strike interruptions and then FOX moving it all over the schedule so erratically. I think FOX was the wrong network from the beginning anyway. The show is funny and was just getting really good when FOX pulled the plug. I just don’t think FOX is a network that really cares about quality. They have American Idol, right? Who needs quality?
Awful show due to awful execution. A true waste of talent and time. Good riddance, stay gone.
I agree with Kev. This show was stale from the start. The tired newsroom set and hack joke writing is exactly why comedy is struggling today.
Wow, a memorial. I might of done that for the Ben Stiller show. Wait, how many years ago was that?
Kelsey’s show may have been canceled… But now he’s running for president!
