Here is DHD/LA Weekly trial correspondent Steven Mikulan’s wrap-up: “Prosecutor Daniel Saunders got the last word in during the government rebuttal argument. Saunders, who’d been lumbered during his closing argument by the need to enumerate most of the 78 counts involved in the RICO case, got to unload on the five defendants and their attorneys. He upbraided the defense for diverting attention away from the accused to the case’s many unindicted or plea-bargained witnesses, noting that to try to fix the crimes’ responsibility on such lesser actors was “like going after the johns and not the prostitutes, the junkies and not the dealers.” After 90 minutes, Saunders concluded by declaring, “This case is not about Hollywood. It’s not about Sylvester Stallone or Keith Carradine. It’s not even about Brad Grey or Michael Ovitz . . . This is a case about people who believed the justice system could be bought with a $25,000 nonrefundable retainer.”

Yeah-right! Like justice has been served! What a joke! Everyone connected with this sham should be ashamed of themselves! Oh, I forgot…there ain’t no such thing in Hollywood.
No, not everyone connected with Pellicano was a scumbag.
If you really give a damn about the lives this case has touched, you’ll choose your words kindly, in consideration of Pellicano’s children, several of whom you know nothing about!
Pellicano may be a lot of things, among them, a good father. Anthony Pellicano has never spoken disparagingly of his ex-wives, and never turned his back on any of his children. Pellicano provably tried to instill of values in his children that included unwaivering respect for the mother.
We’ve read that Kat Pellicano (whom I don’t know and has an autistic son. I wish Mrs. Pellicano and her children the very best and will keep them in my prayers.
Pellicano and his group of client-thugs could’ve cared less about the families – with children, wives, husbands and businesses – that they willingly screwed over and ran into the ground! Because they could!
It’s very simple. Pellicano is going to be convicted of a hundred or so counts and be given a sentence that will ensure he spends the rest of his life in prison. It’s then going to be up to him whether he wants to make a deal to have a chance of getting out in 15 years or so. If he does and turns against his former clients, then there will be a bunch of other prosecutions. Based on what he has said and done in the past, turning on his former clients is unlikely but the prospect of never seeing daylight again can break even the most stubborn.
And, guess what?! The justice system CAN be bought for $25,000 AND a development deal!
Pellicano is being rowed out to sea. Lawyers are at the oars. They’re all smiling and winking at him as the concrete dries around his ankles. He thinks he’s on a journey with friends, but there will come a point and soon when he hits the water, sinks and has to watch them row away.
And they will not be back for him.
Pellicano should flip it… flip it good.
