2ND UPDATE: I hear How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls (WBTV/Alloy) is ”probably” picked up at CW, It was considered a slam dunk, like 90210. (Is it true HTTFRG‘s title has been changed to “Surviving The Filthy Rich”?)
UPDATE: I’ve just been told that, as expected, the CW has picked up 90210, the spinoff to Beverly Hills, 90210. I reported earlier that it received the OK to hire writers. I hear the deal is closed with Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah to run the show, and the script is being rewritten. CW renewed The Game for another season. Both are CW/CBS Paramount shows. Meanwhile, the town is still waiting on CW news for Reaper. The network is pairing the Tyra Banks/Ken Mok contest show Stylista with that duo’s America’s Next Top Model. And Variety reports that the CW has pacted with indie producers Media Rights Capital to program the Sunday night lineup this fall, with MRC on board to produce two comedies and two dramas for the block aimed at adults 18-to-49, not CW’s younger demos, and the specific shows will be announced at Tuesday’s upfront presentation.

Not to be picky, but if you want to be accurate, it’s not called “The Reaper”…it’s called Reaper and it’s one of the best shows on The CW. It’s smart, it’s witty, it’s funny, Ray Wise (and the rest of the cast) are brilliant. Which almost guarantees that the CW will cancel it since it doesn’t have the requisite teenage girl or that other demographic they target mojo. It needs to be on another network.
Other sources have reported the rumor that CW will renew Reaper, amazingly enough. I thought its wit and intelligence doomed it on the CW, too.
The only two shows worth watching on the CW are Smallville and Supernatural. And Smallville won’t be much to watch with Lex, Lana and Chloe gone next season.
The CW should have ditched How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls and picked up Austin Golden Hour- for Something different.
I love Reaper, too. Hope it’s back.
I loved the early seasons of Spelling’s “90210.” I don’t hold out much hope for the new version with Sachs and Judah at the helm. Rented the first disc of their teen series “Life As We Know It” last week and the show was unwatchable, at least for me.
I was wondering if you have any other information on Austin Golden Hour and if its Oked or DOA
Smallville hasn’t been worth watching for a while, kristin kreuk and tom welling have limited acting ability at best…it was a good premise but after about a season and a half the show started going down hill…the killing of ma and pa kent, the addition of lois (terrible acting choice as well)…shows like that most of the actors are chosen for their photogenic ability than their acting talent…the creators of the show are now gone and lex will be gone as well..just cancel the show already for its own good.
Smallville is entertaining but calling it the best show on the CW is like calling Lipstick jungle the best of the ‘women ceos’ shows…damning with faint praise.
Reaper is the best show on the CW, hands down, for anyone with even a smidgen of tste.
(I do enjoy supernatural)
Dude Reaper sucks, it’s just a horrible ripoff of supernatural. Aliens and America shouldve gotten their spot.
I hope the 90210 pilot goes well, it should b interesting 2 watch and the Game is actually a pretty funnie show….that, Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill are the only shows i really watch…i use 2 watch Smallville up until the 4th season after that it got too confusing…and yea the Lois character is horrible, they shoulda gotten a different actress or something…
