ICM’s Leigh Brillstein is stepping down as head of TV talent. Mike Jelline will take over the gig. I’m told she had groomed Jelline for the job for years. Leigh had done two tours as head of TV talent, and this was her decision to step down now and focus more on her clients than management. Meanwhile, she’s extending her deal at the agency. Of course, Leigh is the daughter of famed manager/producer Bernie Brillstein, who sadly has been unwell of late.

she cant be replaced. great agent and great person
You mean Leigh Brillstein, not Lee.
And yes, she’s one great agent, a total pro. I’d be happy if the new ones coming up the ladder had half her skill and even a quarter of her humanity.
Say what you want about leigh, but everyone loves that cougar! She is awesome, just like her dad.
If leigh was the heart of that building, instead of ‘the iceberg’, icm would still be in the top three.
Instead the leaders are like a bunch of Bilary Clintons. yikes.
leave it to an obama-bot to find a way to interject clinton-bashing into every unrelated subject
yikes, indeed
and, btw, if you admire brillstein, a disparaging sexist term like cougar is a backhanded pointless way to express it
Leigh is wonderful and Mike is a star.
The tv dept from the Broder agency hasn’t been the same
It’s lost energy, no longer ahead of the game
Leigh was great, but a fresh hand and modern view is what that company needs. If anyone can steer that ship from the TV end, it’s Mike Jelline. He’s a class act through and through.
As a client of Bernie’s, I would hope we all pray for his speedy recovery. Get better, buddy!
Is this an example of ‘rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic’?
@curious
“Is this an example of ‘rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic’?”
************************
Exactly. ICM is so 80′s.
the problem with broder/icm is that broder was about the clients; after the merger, it became all about the agency.
Sad, because the Broder firm was classy and had a heart; now those same Broder agents have been co-opted into the terrible ICM culture and have forgotten who is the client and who is the agent…
Many, many former Broder clients are unhappy at ICM now.
“truth sayer” speaks true — tv director, writer clients are unhappy with the adequate but mediocre representation by former Broder agents
am i alone in thinking the more moves ICM makes the worse its getting? seems the good people are leaving. they just had a wall street journal article about a joint deal with some third rate ad agency that basically said nothing. is it a leadership issue with chris silberman or has the agency been in steady decline since jeff berg was pushed to the back and its just coming to light?
I agree, ICM Client…ICM has run out of feet to shoot themselves in. How could a current ICM client even want their name attached to such a joke of an agency? They cannot stop the brain-drain of agents leaving in droves.
RIP
Nikki,
Can you please investigate whether ICM really has unhappy clients? Or are these the comments of other agents portraying an ugly picture in the hopes of a major poach?
Would love to hear the real story…
Maybe you can get some quotes from some of the most important Broder clients that are still with ICM…are they feeling nervous? Unhappy?
Anonymous..I dont think its RIP, i think the business is under serious pressure but i seems that ICM is losing ground as one of the big three. i think they’ll be around, just less relevant. i havent had great experiences there as they dont appear to collaborate internally, which i was told was a great strength of ICM and ive yet to see the big benefit that was promised when i came over. and “comment by nikki” i am not an agent. im just asking a relevant question. im not sure any of the agencies have the answers but some seem to be handling the changes better than ICM. just looking to see if its just my perspective
@Nikki please investigate:
THAT’S SILLY
Dissatisfaction with Broder/ICM is commonly known.
