He passed away at Cedars-Sinai. He was a close friend to many in Hollywood. Pals say Charlie Joffe was smart, generous, and with Jack Rollins the first to have a really successful comedy management and production company that set the standard with blue-chip clients like Woody Allen, Robin Williams and Billy Crystal.

My condolences, to his family and friends.
God Bless.
He was a Good Guy.
He produced a movie I was in. He was a generous and unforgettable character. I will miss him
He was always great to me. Rest in peace, Charlie.
I knew him in New York in the 70′s when I was in advertising and wanted to get into television. He encouraged me to move to L.A. When I did he got me my first agent. And stood up for me when I was green as hell and sold my first pilot and the network wanted to bring somebody else in to write it with me. He took the position that ‘I get first crack at it. They can always bring somebody else in later…’
…He taught me what it meant to have an advocate when you’re a nobody.
In recent years I saw him at the Laugh Factory on Thanksgiving and Christmas, dishing out free food that Jamie Masada made available to those who needed it.
He is definitely on the top of my list of ‘most unforgettable characters’ and indeed will never be forgotten.
My best to his family and friends…
Bill Taub
Charlie was TRULY one of a kind. When it came to representing his clients he was so smart, so insightful and absolutely fearless. He made many careers in his life and he did it with generosity, humor and panache. He was a mentor, a fiercely loyal friend and an unforgettable influence on my life. I will always miss him and never forget him.

And the winner is…. You Charlie, and everyone who ever knew you.
……. You touched our hearts, minds and funny bones. We are all the better for it.
Thank You Charlie… for being you… that most unique, talented, straight talking, genuine and special character, teacher, pioneer. Your word was your bond; and a hand shake was all you needed. I will always appreciate and remember the wonderful man, the caring, loyal, supportive friend and mentor you have been these many years.
You always did know how to leave them laughing, The true King of Comedy, Deal Making…Independent Thinking.
CHJ, YOU may have left the building … but the laughter and joy created by your genius, tenacity and collaboration will continue bringing happiness, hilarity and high spirits…to be enjoyed forever after.
Prayers for comfort and peace to Carol, Nicole, Suzanne, Cory, Mr. Allen, Mr. Rollins,& friends.
With Love and admiration, Lin-z Lerond
