The Hollywood talent manager's friends tell me that she was going to a party in Malibu last night when she was struck and thrown by a passing automobile on Pacific Coast Highway. "She is at UCLA hospital in critical condition but hopefully stabilizing. The doctors said she's a real fighter and in great physical shape so they're optimistic," a pal tells me. I've long known and admired Joan, the CEO of Hyler Management, which is why I'm posting this.

Joan is truly a world class human being. My thoughts and prayers go out to her full recovery.
Joan is one of the most decent people in the entertainment business — a class act in all respects. Thinking about her now, and hoping for the best.
If anyone can push through and recover fully it is Joan. She’s a fighter in the best way possible. As a community, we should support her during this time. She’s in our prayers and sending her love and support.
I pray she is okay. What a sweet and wonderful person. Was she going to Portia and Ellen’s wedding or a party associated with that? Weren’t they getting married today? Doesn’t Joan rep Portia?
I know she did and probably still does. Maybe it was a pre-wedding party or something. That’s just a shame.

Joan and I were cheerleaders together in our former ’small town Ohio’ lives. She was a fireball then and obviously still is. Terrible way to reunite but glad to have finally caught up with her after all these years.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I had talked with Jeff F. several months ago and he told me you had been in an accident. He was going to get back to me with your information but he has not done that to date. You have always been a strong person and I know you will get through this.
