The AMPTP made this announcement today. But I’m hearing from casting directors that they haven’t been made privy to what was negotiated or even asked for in the negotiations. It is to be presented at a membership meeting next week.

Statement of the AMPTPThe AMPTP and International Brotherhood of Teamsters have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract for the industry’s Casting Directors and Casting Associates. Bargaining concluded last night after three days of negotiations. The Casting Director agreement is the fifth labor pact negotiated by the Producers so far this year and, along with four major Guild agreements with AFTRA, WGA and DGA, the latest indication that our industry is now back to work.

It’s always wonderful to see one more contract negotiation get settled amicably. After the effects of the shortened seasons that are still hitting us, keeping everything flowing seems like a good idea for right now.
After all we don’t want people throwing over movies and television for video games or theater!
We casting directors have not even been made privy to what was negotiated or even asked for in the negotiations. It is to be presented at a membership meeting next week.
We have a union stering committee that appointed themselves and were never even elected. Another case of the lunitics running the asylum in show business.
why include “or theatre” remark?
One more example of how to actually negotiate a contract: NEGOTIATE. So come on, AMPTP, you’ve shown you know how to do it — now get back to the table with SAG and get to work! The negotiations have broken down because YOU walked out!
Negotiated by the REAL most powerful union in n a Hollywood, Teamsters Local 399. The AMPTP can give you close to what you want if your negotiators actually know how to negotiate and have a real plan to get it.
