Ohmygawd, it plummetted 700 points on grim earnings news, then crawled back to 514.45. All the indices had major slides. How low can media stocks go?
Who’s going to get the next margin call?

Nick Counter and AMPTP, the SAG wants to talk.
Come to a settlement on their next three year contract now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your members need a settlement with SAG for their very survival!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quit playing games or you will not have anybody to support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
maybe the studios will cut out some of those stupid term deals with the fat cat producers and their useless, overbloated staffs who barely churn out a movie every year or two. What a waste of money!
Anyone who buys stucks on margin is a fucking idiot and has no right investing. Having said that, I know multiple firms are sitting on the sidelines, not game to invest in case Obama gets elected at which point the stockmarket will tank as you’ve never seen it tank before.
At least now it’s basically going sideways…This was after a couple of big up days, might just be retesting the bottom.
Last chance to buy AAPL for a two-digit price? I was all over that!
Why do you think that SAG deserves a better contract than the writers, directors, and other actors union?
SAG is the one who should “quit playing games” as you put it, and settle on an interim deal just like their counterparts already have this year.
If you think that the studio heads who are negotiating will be impacted as much as the actors, you’re dead wrong. It’s the little guys who will suffer the most, as evident by the WGA strike.
Look, on basic issues that have to do with inflation and the cost of living going up, yes, absolutely the actors deserve a significant bump to bring them up to current times. (ie gas money increased because gas costs more now) But with issues like new media where another major union already struck because they were holding out for a bigger piece of the pie… SAG should not be trying to out-do the WGA, DGA and AFTRA. Do you really think that 75% of the SAG members will vote for a strike? If they vote on it and it gets turned down, the SAG board of directors will have nothing left, and will probably get less than they would now.
I agree, time to end this nonsense, but SAG needs to bite the bullet, not fight the billionaires, and take a deal that is similar to the 4 others signed this year.
Jessy S.: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G.E.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time Warner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not worried about SAG right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time for SAG to accept the deal and get back to work. And maybe you can star in a real fantasy film.
Dianne Crystal Meth Stevens:
The whole world market will collapse if McCain wins. Get a clue Repug. Central casting might soon have a BG role for you as crazy street woman, don’t forget your foil hat.
“I know multiple firms are sitting on the sidelines, not game to invest in case Obama gets elected at which point the stockmarket will tank as you’ve never seen it tank before.”
Care to make it interesting “Crystal Diane?” I’ve got 80 shares of Apple (only 20% on margin!) that’s sayin’ an Obama crash is a laughable figment of your very active imagination.
By the way, were you that crazy lady from the McFossil rally that thought Obama was an A-rab?
Trust me the volatility is just as worse as the down spirals. Nobody will start investing again until there is some sort of stability.
Why do libs have to sink to race baiting and bashing of the elderly in their pathetic attempt to prop up their sorry candidate? Yeah, I’m looking at you, Jenius (you’re not Biden’s speechwriter are you?).
