I’ll admit that I didn’t watch Entourage last night, so I can’t comment on how good it was – or wasn’t. All five of those lead actors are between “good” and “great”; the writing’s been up and down lately, though. From what I gather from earlier posts is that the episode wasn’t funny to people who either weren’t high/stoned at the time they watched it, or who had not tried ‘shrooms, etc, in the past so they didn’t “get it”.
What’s to “get”? Do I have to get f’ed up to enjoy my entertainment these days?
First off, I am by no means a conservative, but I don’t do any kind of drugs. Nor do I need to, want to, or will I be “tempted” by peer pressure, yadda, yadda, yadda… I think the bigger point is where entertainment is headed lately.
I was around in the 1960s. People constantly tell me how good the music was back then and my answer to them is WTF? Yeah, if you were dropping acid it was good – great, even. As long as you were doping, I could have eaten some mushrooms and played my guitar with my teeth too, and you’d have thought I was the Mozart of Rock & Roll.
With the recent success (?) of Pineapple Express, I wonder who these producers and actors think they’re reaching out to. I mean, a stoner comedy about being stoned? Not only has it been done (Cheech & Chong) but who is/are the audience for these things – people who get stoned and then go watch a movie? These people thought Pineapple Express was hilarious? Well, remember that everything’s funny when you’re stoned, pal, even Seth Rogen.
Seth Rogen is an actor? (Well, he’s reciting lines on camera, so, uh…) Yeah, right – he plays exactly the same stoned douchebag guy in everything he’s done to date. This isn’t entertainment – but smoke a few bowls at lunch and get back to me with your argument.
There were a couple of idiots on set today who were obviously on some sort of “stimulants”. They were annoying, obnoxious and in a word, unprofessional. But they weren’t fired, either.
If acceptance of the Hollywood drug culture has seeped into the mainstream product to this extent, then middle America’s current disdain for the entertainment industry will have been accurate.
I thought last night’s episode was one of the best episodes maybe ever. I was a fan (or, maybe, secretly, I was always just pretending to like the show b/c everyone around me says they do)
However, the worst thing about ENTOURAGE is and always will be that terrible, D-grade opening credit song. I hate it so much.

I am throwing down – I just saw the last episode of entourage again and it was nothing short of fucking BRILLIANT!

Agreed above, Seth Rogen is a tool. As for Entourage, it’s like bad sex or pizza, it’s still worth it. (Deep)

The show is just eye candy. It’s fun to watch. No ramifications for any actions. Do drugs but with no addictions, spend all your money, never grow up…The one hint of something real came when Turtle started to realize he is a loser on Sunday’s show (WHICH HIS CHARACTER IS). Then that was dropped…and make Lloyd an agent already Ari!

I’m not one of the Entourage haters here, but last week’s ep was pretty so-so — although loved Eric Roberts and E’s not talking — (woulda been funnier if Ari of all people was struck mute, but I digress.)
HOWEVER…My overall reaction to the episode as a whole was shot down by the reintroduction of Dom.

ENTOURAGE Grows some guts and you call them out for being bad. A classic episode. You would do well in the studio ranks for your lack of taste.
No surprise that drug addicts found it amusing. Does that say something about those who greenlit another pathetic season?

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has been disappointed in this seasons “Entourage”. Although it is only a few episodes into the season they do not live up to past episodes. Are they jumping the shark? I hope not, I really used to enjoy the show.

“Entourage” is played out.
Obviously, Vince will end up being the lead actor in this “Smokejumper” movie and everything will work out peachy for everyone involved…basically a rehash of the first three seasons.
Last season was good because things didn’t go their way, and it looked like this season might have more challenging ideas. But it doesn’t.

Thanks to the guy who said “It reminded me of the “Three’s Company” where Jack took tranquilizers and went crazy at a posh island party.” While I thought the Entourage episode was pretty funny (and I haven’t done drugs since I was 18, a mere 19 years ago), I was really happy to be reminded of that Jack Tripper scene, perhaps the funniest scene in TV history. I woould love to see that scene again. Now, I’ll be checking the episode guide for weeks. Thanks for the reminder.
As for this season of Entourage, I haven’t been thrilled but haven’t been disappointed either. I liked how Medellin bombed and now they have to deal with the failure. I am willing to ride it out for a while. Hell, it’s only 25 minutes a week. I spend more than reading nonsense on the internet.
And, finally, I hate Dom too and unless he is used as a side story for 2, maybe 3 show, I don’t want to see him. Now, if they show him getting run over by a speedboat, I’ll bet the show would be revitalized.

3 eps in & you bitches are gripin’?
Whatever happened to build up?
Are your intelligence quotients & attention spans so pathetically low?
Or is this just another case of chokin’ on the hater aid?
Unless you’ve read all of this season’s scripts, my suggestion would be for patience.
It didn’t disappoint last season, did it?

‘Entourage’ Renewed For 6th Season
HBO likes mushrooms more than DHD.

I’ve watched it twice now and laughed just as much the second time, as the first. It’s been eons since a tv show made me laugh out loud – to the point of tears. When Turtle talks to his dog at the end, I lost it. Truly a perfect episode – and I’m not a fan, I watch it when there’s nothing else on, but I’ve told everyone to see this one.

The Joshua Tree episode was one of the best.
Very pleased to see the show renewed.

This weeks episode was not good. Some funny moments but well below the high bar it has set for itself.
My big complaint ia that this show is only thirty minutes. 45-50 minutes would be better. I just get into it as it ends.
With the other options on TV,,,, its worth season 6. kudos to everyone involved.

I’ve always loved entourage but the joshua tree episode sucks big time the only thing worth watching was Jeremy acting stoned. The following episode with Dom was even worse the writers seem to be running out of steam. Maybe it will pick up again hopefully before alienating its loyal viewers

For those of you who hate on Entourage, I am sure you can catch reruns of Murder She Wrote and Golden Girls on Lifetime.
I can’t believe someone just wrote that. Never mind the fact that the episode in question was a blatant rip-off of Oliver Stone’s The Doors — not an homage or even a Friedberg/Seltzer style spoof but a straight lift — ignore the fact that Entourage is to edgy what Hollister is haute couture fashion; but to suggest that Entourage belongs in the same sentence as Golden Girls should be written into the Patriot Act as grounds for dispatchment to Gitmo for waterboarding. Entourage doesn’t have a fraction of the Golden Girls subversive wit, and Ari Gold’s not worthy to suck Bea Arthur’s d**k. If Abercrombie cargo shorts and flip-flops are your idea of formal wear and Rohypnol is your idea of foreplay, maybe Entourage is your Fear and Loathing. But to those of us who’ve done consciousness-expanding drugs more than once and who expect actual LAUGHS from our comedies, Entourage falls flatter than the leftover Coors Lights swill from your frat house’s last kegger.
