EXCLUSIVE: Fandango, one of the Internet’s biggest movie ticketsellers, is currently polling moviegoers interested in seeing W, the new Oliver Stone biopic about George W. Bush opening this Friday. Here are a few preliminary results based on nearly 2,000 respondents who answered its survey from Friday through 2:30 pm today:
57% are male
58% are ages 25-49
66% say they want to see W because of its controversy surrounding the film
34% say they voted for George W. Bush in a previous election
27% say they will vote for McCain
53% say they will vote for Obama
80% have seen at least one of Oliver Stone’s previous movies

I’m glad Fandango did this survey, but I’m pretty sure that -unfortunately- we are still very far from knowing what does Average American think about ‘W’. (Maybe a survey at Wal-Mart, anybody?)
fuck Oliver Stone and fuck “W.” i am insulted that Oliver Stone think that the whole 8 years of the Bush administration is funny, because there is NOTHING funny about thousands of American soldiers, Iraqis, and Afghans dying in the name of oil, greed, and capitalism!
the fact that people don’t take Bush seriously is what bothers me so much. He LIED and nobody has bothered to impeach him, but we impeached Clinton for a blowjob!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
Oh great. A new source of faulty debate material for the MTV generation.
I like Bush, but going to see because I’m assuming it’ll be more like a SNL skit..should be good for some laughs.
Why doesn’t Oliver Stone do a movie that about a true former President that would be full of all kinds of salacious stuff — the Bill Clinton Story. Do you think Stone would have the nerve to do that as long as Clinton is alive? He is quite comfortable taking shots at conservatives, but i doubt if Stone would take on the Clintons.
Everyone loves a train wreck…they want to see Bush get lambasted to make themselves feel better and Oliver Stone is as good at bashing as anyone.
Why does Hollywood continue to think they need to get involved in politics by producing mocumentaries
Just goes to show that controversy sells. I was so disappointed with Oliver’s attempt at JFK. Why not come right out and expose some of the players that he uncovered in his research? Why did he have to hide desktop name plates behind plants and shrubs in the office scenes of the movie? Too afraid to tell it like it was? I am so sure Oliver will be as fair and even in his potrayal of an unpopular sitting president.
Can’t wait for Friday and can’t wait to buy the DVD! Thanks George for screwing something else up. Everything you have touched has turned to crap! Fool!
You missed a metric. 85% should have their heads examined for actually wanting to waste 2 hours watching the drug-soaked products of Oliver Stoned
Yet ANOTHER pile of limo liberal sh*t I’ll avoid. Oliver Stone’s lips are firmly planted on Castro’s a**.
I would watch this film if someone paid me $1000 to enter the theatre and there was an option to walk out after the first 5 minutes. Is this movie really necessary? I am tired of the reality show version, so why should I pay for a fictional account directed by someone that has not tried to hide his true feelings about the subject? Maybe in 20 years, when my memory is fading and I want to relive the Bush hatred of the 2000′s.
100% say this movie will do NOTHING to tilt the election towards Obama’s favor since everyone who goes to see it has already made up his or her mind.
BTW, does anyone think it would be ok for someone to, say, make a movie about Obama and release it right before the election at the end of his first term should he become president? Unless it wasn’t completely gushing over him and praising him, I doubt it would ever stand a chance of being released.
As a native Texan, I am offended at the caricature acting I have seen in the previews to this film. Love the Talking Heads song, but the promos probably showed all the “good” lines and action. The actors all said they weren’t trying to play caricatures–my a$$!
Who Wants To See Oliver Stone’s ‘W’?
No one I know…
If I want to see Bush bashing, I can watch MSNBC for free.
I am not and I bet most people will not pay money to see this Stone film. Why? Because , it is old news and should be available for free on the Obama web site as a campaign ad. I am sure it over plays the bad and plays down any good and has a predicable outcome. The image that has been painted for the past 8 years by the Democrats and others is what you will PAY to see. Boring.
Maybe Stone can actually make an entertaining movie one day that is a pleasure to watch or does he know how?
Oliver Stone is a traitor and should just move to one of his Utopian nations, for example, Cuba is just a short flight away. Europe becomes him..WHY does he stay here in America??!!!
and we should care about this why? Everyone knows who and what Oliver Stone is and with money tight these days who would want to waste their money on a left wing slanted Bush hit piece they can actually see a good movie about some funny little dogs?
Totally tastesless to show a movie about a current president. I wonder if Hollywood would have given us a Clinton/Lewinski movie during his presidency. This is unacceptable and I will boycott every single Oliver Stone film from now on.
82% say they are dumb asses
Sheep.
All 10 of them?
‘W’has to be better than the 2008 sequel ‘WTF?’
Yes but what is the interest level?
