According to today’s late announcement, the Time Warner board finally added chairman to Jeff Bewkes’ CEO title. Well, it’s only up from here. As for Dick Parsons, the only Time Warner exec left who was responsible for the disastrous merger with AOL, well, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Thanks to “Teflon Dick”, a lot of shareholders are cursing TW every time they look at their drowning portfolios. Now let’s see if Bewkes can provide the lifeboats.

good luck, not a job i’d want, and luckily they don’t want me
Bewkes is worse than that lame ass Parsons. Can you PLEASE tell me what he has done to deserve the CEO title, let alone the Chairman title. I think shareholders have to very carefully look at the Time Warner board…this is a lame duck board, with a lamer duck CEO…time for change kids…where’s the stock today? I think it closed at $10 a share…it used to be $17 and wall street hated it…let’s be honest call a spade a spade, Parson was a crappy Chairman, and Bewkes is worse. The people to blame are the Time Warner Board…the whole thing is laughable if it were not for the share holders who are getting it in the ass.
Remember, it was Dick Parsons who told AOL Time Warner employees to “get over it” when they complained about the post-merger plummeting stock price — but only after he sold his own shares for about $44 million, at the same time he was telling people the company was in fine shape.
Has Bewkes’ “ballsy” move to destroy New Line — which ironically has had three solid hits in SEX AND THE CITY, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and FOUR CHRISTMASES and a solid base hit with APPALOOSA since everything fell to pieces — done anything to help TW’s bottom line? Hardly. He’s just another soulless, clueless corporate jackass.
How many more millions will this earn Bewkes when his only strategy for cost cutting at TW has been cutting thousands of jobs? Clueless, yet classic, American corporate strategy. The new American economy needs to be about people. Sending hardworking folks out into the street should be the last resort of a failing corporation, not the first.
The guy is worse at his job than vomiting in one’s mouth.
