UPDATE: Lots of insiders have been telling me all week that Eric Mika is out as publisher of The Hollywood Reporter. Or is that just wishful thinking? (Remember, this guy was once described to me as “a prick with all the people skills of a feral pig”.) The word is he’ll be replaced by THR‘s fellow Variety emigre Rose Einstein, and Mica may get shifted by Nielsen to some job in England. Mika’s office would not confirm or deny. By my count, this would be the 5th THR publisher since 2006. Anyway, whoever’s in the job will most likely preside over an online-only trade before too long.

So has the useless Mika actually been fired yet? Hoped we’d hear by now…
Hey Been There, Lived It… so why did Smith fire Koones and have him essentially thrown out? And, because you are wallowing in your own pool of incorrect facts, you missed my point – Mika ISN’T humble, we can agree on that one, but Koones is such an arrogant egoist that it MAKES Mika look humble… get it?
Goodness, Let the Truth be Known, you’re quite bitter as it appears that you personally may have been given a pink slip by Koones and DV. If so, it’s ashame, but you must move-on and think about getting yourself some couch time to heal your anger and resentment. There was only room on the ship for one maniacal narcissist and Tad made the call to hold his seat. Yeah, Charlie was very taken with himself, we all know that. But, the industry liked him and knew who he was, he got the job done. The industry doesn’t have a clue who Tad was or is like most of the management team that resided there at DV back then.
So, I “didn’t miss your point” I just don’t feel sorry for you or agree with YOU. Charlie would have never written such an arrogant letter to a subscriber or client such as Mika did. He did understand the importance of building business and valued his subscribers and advertisers – he got it. That’s what this is about “Let the Truth Be Known,” it’s about business! Valuing it, holding on to it and continuing to build it in these turbulent times and economy. Get it?
