I’ve been meaning to post that independent producer Greg Mooradian has become SVP of production to Adam Goodman, the prez of production at Paramount. There’s an interesting backstory here: Mooradian was responsible for finding Twilight as a pre-published manuscript and bringing it to David Gale at MTV Films who in turn brought it to Karen Rosenfelt who was president of production at Paramount and bought the book from Mooradian and MTV to develop and produce. ”Since Paramount couldn’t hold onto the property, they did the next best thing in hiring the person who found and developed the property but whom has never received proper credit,” one of my sources snarked. Mooradian actually started the new job last Tuesday but without so much as even a brief announcement. I hear that’s because Paramount thought it wouldn’t look good to be hiring in the middle of all its layoffs.

Congrats Greg! You totally deserve it.
Greg is awesome, Paramount made a great choice.
adam also brought geoff stier over from vantage
One of the good guys. Worked on a movie last year with him and he’s friendly and devoid (for a producer) of the insecurity and ego fits that befell his brethren. One day he pulled into crew parking at location and I reminded him that as a producer, he can just drive to the set and the Teamsters will take care of him. He replied: “Right and that’s just what we need at location; another car that someone has to figure out where to park. I’m sure production can survive without me while I get a ride to set.”
Greg is a smart, talented producer and will be a great exec for Paramount. Kudos.
I had an experience with Greg while he was the development exec. for a producer. I thought he was terrific. His notes were strong but he was open minded and smart. And not insecure like AH. He had a real interest in making good material better.
Thank you and good luck Greg!
Greg is going to make Par a lot of money. Period.
so can they get rid of Weston already?
Congrats Greg! It is so nice when nice things happen to nice people… Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!
Wow Nikki, can I get you to shill for me once I get let go? Never mind that you omit the fact that in Greg’s previous position over at Walden Media he couldn’t get arrested and never mind the fact that Adam Goodman is living on borrowed time without Spielberg to watch his back.
Will you be my publicist too Nikki?
Not to jump on the bandwagon, but I’ve crossed paths with him a couple of times over the years and he really does seem like one of the good guys. Funny how when a studio finally does something smart they don’t announce it.
Greg Mooradian is such a smart, nice, and very polite guy, a real pleasure to deal with always. I have not had occasion to talk with him lately, but look forward to the time when we once again have business together. He’s always one of the easy calls, a fun lunch, a real gem. Congratulations!
I once watched Greg in a meeting spontaneously sing the lyrics to the jingle in Halloween 3: “Happy Happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Happy Happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock!” That won him lifetime respect in my book. Congratulations, Greg!
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. He’s smart, friendly, and he returns your calls!
Greg is awesome. End of story.
I’ve never met Greg, but would like to after these comments. Give credit to a guy who elicits unanimously positive remarks on Nikki’s blog. Didn’t think such a person existed in this town!
Congratulations to someone who appears to be doing it the right way…
Greg is hands down one of the smartest, nicest people in the business. He is always steps ahead and It’s great such a talented person got this gig. Ladies and Gents, one more of the good peeps is finally at a studio.
i’ve never seen so many positive things said about a person on this website!
…the decision not to announce this great news is asinine!
Man, this is unprecedented, a smart, well-liked and funny executive.
Shows how my career is going that I don’t know him.
Congratulations Greg, I mean Mr. Morradian sir.
I have to echo the sentiments here!
Greg is one of the smartest, most creative and sanely pragmatic people I have come across in this business. It’s nice to see someone in a key studio position who is really about the work, and not about ego. He’s also incredibly genuine, nice and hilarious. Congrats to Par for such a great hire!
Mooradian Rocks! Way to go Greg. You deserve it. It really does beat owning a Tito’s Taco Stand in Baja, right? Wishing you tons of success and happiness hot stuff!
