Looks like some movie bosses and Christian’s agent got him to call into the show. I highly doubt Mr. Bale listens to this station, but then again I’m sure Hollywood crew members listen to this station. I would hope he would’ve done this on a national show, but with the internet and all of the 7:30 inside Hollywood shows will spread this audio like wildfire. Can’t wait for the Terminator: Salvation press junkets.

OMG I hate DJ’s, they couldn’t keep their mouths shut and let Christian speak. They kept talking over him.
Thank God for satelite radio. Christian should of done the interview with Howard Stern. At least Howard would of asked him what the deal was with his Mom.

Are people still talking about this? Oh my God, he yelled at someone for screwing up. My God, what an outrage.
He’s done the obligatory apology, now can we please move on?

So can we drop it now, please? We all know people lose their temper from time to time, and we also know people love to knock a movie star down a peg or two if they get the chance. So Bale’s apologized and seems totally genuine to me. That’s the end of it. Let’s move on.

Wasn’t he being restrained at one point during that confrontation? Where is his commentary on that? Oh, yeah. He claims he wasn’t.
Just like Bale himself, his “apology” is insincere. He’s not sorry that he’s psychotic. He’s only sorry that more people know.
Russell Crowe transformed himself into box-office poison and wasn’t even recorded when he assaulted that BAFTA producer and that hotel desk clerk.
In the end, Bale is easily replaceable in his most recognized role. You could substitute another actor in that role faster than Katie Holmes can say “Maggie Gyllenhaal.”

It all happened because he ‘cares too much,’ and allowed himself to get possessed by the ghost of a fictional character, who took over his body. Got it.

LOL @ the headline, Nikki.
Someone made him do this but he really didn’t have to. Nearly everyone I know is a)now more excited about the film and b)sympathizes with him.

He said he was sorry and apologized. Why do you still need spilled blood? Do still need traffic to you site to drive ad revenue? Can we move on now?

He didn’t say fuck once. That makes me sad
Still, whatever sparked the call I give him points for manning up. Most others in his situation would have placed blame on anyone but themselves so hearing him say he fucked up earned him my respect.

In the digital age, there are things that will last and this is one of them.
Like Hugh Grant’s blowjob, Russel Crow and Naomi Campbell throwing phones and Eddie Murphy picking up a tranny, this will last forever.
Bale’s the poster boy for assholes.

I have spent may years on film sets
unfortunately some DP forget what we are all there for.
when the DP is walking around looking at the lights he is usually followed by a gaffer and grip.
so now when the actor is trying to act he has a road show in his face, I’m sure this was not the first time it happened on this shoot, so my question is why didn’t the AD or Director try and take control of the floor so the actors can ACT, and not watch others doing a walkabout.
I produce now if that sound mixer comes looking for a job from me he will be shown the door. shame on him for letting, the family a film set is, be put out on the street. Christian should have drop the F-bomb on a few others. When the cast has the set sit down, don’t move or talk it is there time to do the magic.
That is film school 101

for those of us who work in film, work on sets, we know this kind of behavior (and much worse) happens on every show. That doesn’t make it right of course, but this is our dirty little secret and that is why making films is an exclusive club. Truth is, we all know Bale was a big time prick, but we also know he and the DP moved on from this incident. The only shame is that this tape was recorded and released exposing what all already know.

Why did he have to apologize to the public, exactly? This happened months ago, and he said that shortly after he sorted the whole thing out and apologized to the DP. This whole thing just highlights how stupid people in this country are, calling for an apology when it doesn’t concern them. Go back to chugging Mountain Dew and watching American Idol, America, and let people live their lives.

The truly great, iconic actors of the golden age would never have behaved this way (and if they had, they would have been slapped down immediately by studio execs, telling them to mind their manners on the company’s time). True stars like Gable and Bogart and Cagney would jaw with the crew, or tell a funny story, or have a belt of something right up until they called “Action,” walking in front of the camera to do their bit. And people will still watch their films for generations to come, when obsessive, navel-gazing boy-men asshole “artists” like Batdouche are long, long forgotten.

Why would anyone care if he apologizes or not – furthermore, why does anyone care that this tape got out? The guy probably makes about $10 million a film, and in reality, he doesn’t give a flying F what you think, if you’re with him or against him. He’s an A-list millionaire, so don’t go feeling “bad” for Mr. Bale, because he certainly wouldn’t feel bad for you.

Not amused,
If you actually think Bale’s career is over because of this then you are quite the idiot. You’ll notice almost all the people coming to his defence are industry people, even those with no association to Bale or his films. Why? Because this stuff happens all the time. The only people still “outraged” are little girls on message boards with no power in Hollywood.
I have a feeling that Terminator Salvation will do just fine*, Bale will get his $20 million for Batman III and no one will care about this two weeks from now. Just call it a hunch.
* I’m still not convinced that this wasn’t just an eloborate publicity stunt by Warner Bros. After all, TMZ (which broke the story) is owned by WB parent company Time-Warner; this happened at the same time Warner was unloading photos, interviews and on-set articles in the lead up to the summer blockbuster; so many people who had no idea that this film was even being made are now interested in watching it.

To paraphrase Kate Hepburn, “Show me a happy set and I’ll show you a boring movie”. He sounded truly contrite but in a self-depracating way, not wallowing in the self-analysis trough so many of these actors swim in. I for one am looking forward to seeing Terminator: Salvation, but even way more exciting is Michael Mann’s Public Enemies. Bale as Melvin Purvis? Depp as Dillinger? Just go to IMDB and click on the title. A couple of REALLY cool photos. Can’t wait.

First AD – you are spot on. There was no control on that set. BUT I’m pretty sure the audio was leaked by the insurance company that had asked for it, due to Bale’s threat of walking.
That’s how it was reported here anyways: Bale’s threat forced the turnover of the set audio to the insurance company last year. Last week, someone at said insurance company leaked it. Investigation ongoing. Soundman stuck in a bad spot: had no choice but to turn over audio to producer. Out of his hands it becomes public.
