• Leary, is one of the good guys. I have met him and nearly directed one of the Rescue Me episodes a few years back, but, he is handcuffed in many ways as well.

  A big loss to Paradigm and major gain for Endeavor.

• Denis Leary has always been one of my favorite comics/actors but he has always been in stuff that is not equal to his talent. The problem is that Leary is fearless, passionate, funny, cynical, honest and macho.

  Hollywood is none of these things.

  “Rescue” is the first show to capture his real talent. Perhaps the Endeavor people will find a way to get him roes that showcase is many and marvelous gifts.

  That said, “Rescue Me” has fallen creatively and it hurts to watch it lately. I am anxious to see what Denis does next.

• Denis Leary is not fearless, passionate, funny, cynical, honest or macho. What he is is a thief, a hack, he stole his ‘cynical tough guy’ act from Bill Hicks, a great comedian who died before his time. In some cases, Leary does Hicks’ stuff word for word. Kudos to Joe Rogan for calling this hack onto the carpet.

• i idolized this guy growing up and wonder why he isn’t making great films?

  his prod co should be partnering him w/ great feature material and making it on the cheap – how much do clooney’s greats cost?

  tv is just a tough proposition right now – people may like crap movies – but they also like great tv – rescue me is good not great and drowning in the shuffle of white of noise of a million other shows – and he’s probably getting paid millions to do it so i guess either way!
