I would like to help in ANY way possible. These people are the history of Hollywood. I just can’t believe that anyone would put these valuable people out on the street, which is what this doctor in charge did. Yes, I realize this doctor has his side of the story too. But WHY in the world was I as a member of SAG and AFTRA NEVER contacted to ask for help when the situation first was acknowledged. I have read all the info that Nikki put up and it seems to me that the loved ones of these treasures of our history had the right idea. It also looks like the board realized that they could save this home, but chose the easy way out and it just makes my stomach churn. So how can I help? Please if any of the family members can contact me, my email is tracypfau@yahoo.com.
It’s great that The Night Before event is going to happen on the 21st. I just hope that all the stars listed as hosting this event have not specified that these funds are not to be used for the long-term care unit. We have heard that the Board has asked that people who donate money do not specify that the funds go toward the long-term care unit. How sad is that.
As the sister of a patient in long-term care, I’m hoping that all these great stars that lend their name to this event would make sure the funds are used for all MPTF programs as stated above “It
provides healthcare, retirement care, childcare and
charitable social services with compassion and respect for
the dignity of the whole person. ” And not leaving out the most vulnerable of all in the industry – those in long-term care.
No matter what the news conference says tomorrow – the damage has been done by the way these people have been treated by the present Board. They know that or they would not have fired their PR person. Telling people in their 90′s they have to leave the place they think of as home in 60 days is unconscionable.
