I’ve been trying to get my hands on an internal Motion Picture & Television Fund and Foundation’s document called The Camden Report because it looks at all the different ways that the MPTF could have trimmed costs without resorting to the closures of the acute care hospital and long-term care nursing home at the end of 2009. Well, here’s its summary:

If you want to close down a nursing home and destroy the lives of sick old people to build new condo’s for healthy and wealthy seniors, you hire and pay a consultant to give you the result you want to deflect your responsibility . Wonder who leaked the “secret document.” Could it be the CEO David Tillman or another Board member?
Betcha they won’t leak the back up financial data. Ask them for it Nikki. Let’s see the costs to run the nursing home vs the money it brings in. Let’s see what it costs to run the multi trillion dollar administrative offices, and Jodie Foster swimming pool and the new exercise center for which they charge $25 a person per month. What’s the loss there from the construction costs and upkeep? Moral MP&&TF Board dilemma: throw out sick old people and destroy what’s left of their lives or throw out the 87 degree pool water?
And exactly how much have you donated to the Fund recently? Seems like a lot of folks are rightfully pissed off about this but not so much that they will reach into their pockets to financially support the Fund. No wonder they are having trouble. Not only are healthcare costs increasing at a rate of roughly 10% each year, but the number of Industry workers choosing to donate has dropped off too. When is the last time you asked for a payroll deduction to go to the Fund?
Either make a contribution or quit your moaning.
There is a lot more going on than what they have said. They also are not saying anything to the employees. We know nothing. Seth Ellis is the worst spokesperson you could have for the fund. He has a vision for only himself- that is to keep his job and keep collecting that huge paycheck. He cares nothing about the residents or employees. And Jeffrey Katzenberg– what is he doing on the board. He brought Disney down and now he is bringing MPTF down. All board members and top executives should be thrown out.
They don’t do any new kind of fundraising. They stick with the same old thing year in and year out. Ken Scherer – what are you still doing in your position?
Labor increases 4%? Where?? Union workers got a 3% raise last year and this year is 2%. Non union workers get more and also a bonus. And the execs— Not only do they get a huge increase, but also a bonus. And their bonus’s are more than some employees yearly salaries.
Hopefully someone, somewhere will uncover the true story and tell the world what’s going on.
If the hospital and long-term nursing care facilities are closing, is there some plan to convert the MPTF into a sort of an upscale Sun City residential complex for healthy and wealthy seniors, I wonder? After all, the proptery is PRIME and, in close proximity to Los Angeles, on the way to Santa Barbara where many industry people have homes.
Mary Pickford and Charlied Chaplin must be turning over in their graves!
Are Katzenberg, Ellis, and Tillman the only spokespeople for the MPTF, I wonder?
Apparently, The Camden Report has been kept a secret for quite some time; and, as Mr. Katzenberg has stated, “This has not been communicated well.”
Well, be that as it may, it is my understanding there are at least two (2) excellent Actor communicators who also sit on the MPTF Board. Are these professional communicators not permitted to communicate to their consituency?
