Endeavor is busy, busy, busy denying rumors in this pre-merger period. The latest (while I was out of pocket all afternoon) is that wholesale layoffs are starting at the agency tonight with three talent agents getting the ax. The rumor mill has even ID’ed the trio. But Endeavor says it’s not true and only one of the agents, Daisy Wu, is exiting.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

You know what rumors mean…and they usually end up being true. If there’s smoke, usually there’s fire.
I have it on a very good authority that Endeavor will not be reducing it’s workforce in anyway that will add to the unemployment rolls, because they want to prove that Hollywood agents aren’t all heartless and out only for money.
They’re going to sell their excess agents for their organs on the black market, which will also help stimulate the economy.

Especially the hearts – never used, after all…..
“there is nothing as black as an agent’s heart” – Guy Mac (may he R.I.P.)
Be careful. If the organs are left lying around, Irv Weintraub may eat them.
So… Who are these rumored three? I haven’t heard or read a thing anywhere.
Look for news that WMA is losing one of their prize directors to Endeavor. He’s been in meetings with agencies wooing him, but it looks like Big E will be the place.
other agencies are just trying to destabilize Endeavor while talks of merger continue.I heard 5 different names of agents who were rumored to being fired today and it is all fiction. they are all still there and will be there for a while.
it’s frustrating to hear that Daisy is parting ways with Endeavor. she’s good people at an agency that has a history of focusing on grooming and growing agents. sad for daisy, annoyed with end.
I’ve known Daisy from her ICM days and where ever she lands will be a better agency for it. She is one of the smartest and most loyal agents in the business.
i have to agree re; daisy. good people.
Nobody works harder than Daisy Wu.
This is getting ever so boring. WMA and Endeavor should merge or not merge because the tension is DESTROYING both agencies. Word to the wise: Be very careful while driving or crossing the street in Beverly Hills. There are some very stressed agents behind the wheel.
This sucks – Daisy is a great person, loyal and smart. The bigger a place gets the more they lose sight of what their real assets are.
Agree. It’s Endeavor’s loss. Daisy is one of the smartest, hardest-working agents out there. Unfortunately, this is just the first of many merger casualties.
Daisy Wu-Wu is the BEST.
Forget watching Endeavor, people should be watching WMA, which is about to be eaten alive by Ari and company. If that merger happens, there will be a wholesale housecleaning at WMA, which it needs…unfortunately, it won’t include Wiatt, Wirtschafter, Weintraub, etc…but their days will come.
she is not the only one – they are lying…
When will they start cutting the MP LIT department, by far the worst performing department at Endeavor.
Daisy is classy, bright and an asset to any agency or managment firm (big or small). She was a rising star at ICM and covered her ass off. She’s focused and has a lot of good will out there. Don’t forget an attorney who practiced at Gibson at like 21-22 years young. Speaks Mandarin (which is another asset in ’09) and most importantly..a great friend who deserves our support. Daisy Wu = CAA (young, female, a minority) OR go to Industry w/ her gal pal Ms.Sandra Chang or star at Gersh – what do we think?
Yes, this is business and about growth, numbers, clients. Yet, I urge people to consider those execs who are well trained, experienced, devoted and talented with an eye. A culture or management team that doesn’t value contributions that aren’t part of a balance sheet are very narrow. Daisy is an example of someone who was an essential part of the support system and foundation of a building. She deserves credit for many great accomplishments. She didn’t run around on a quest for credit. Her work ethic and ability to quietly service and generate business wasn’t properly valued. BIG MISTAKE.
working w/ wu – Agreed. D Wu graduated from UVA Law (a top law school) a few years younger than most and is fluent in Mandarin. Most importantly, she’s got a big heart and a solid work ethic. I wouldn’t worry about her- she’ll land on her feet running.
