I’m told Emmy Rossum is leaving CAA and taking meetings with other agencies.
ICM signed two directors from the Sundance Film Festival — writer/director MAX MAYER, whose romantic dramedy Adam, was bought by Fox Searchlight, and director ONDI TIMONER, whose documentary, We Live In Public, won The Grand Jury Prize.
ICM also signed HAMISH LINKLATER (The New Adventures Of Old Christine) from UTA; ANIL KAPOOR, fresh off Slumdog Millionaire; LINDA CARDELLINI of ER; JOHN ROBINSON (Lords Of Dogtown, Elephant); and JOHN HENSLEY (Nip/Tuck).
William Morris signed ER‘s MEKHI PHIFER, JAG‘s DAVID JAMES ELLIOT, writer/director GREGOR JORDAN, (The Informers, Unthinkable, Ned Kelly), writer CORY GOODMAN (Priest) from CAA; film and TV writer DAVID HUBBARD, kids programming producer TOMMY LYNCH from ICM; actor/director Chad Lowe.
The Gersh Agency signed Kirstie Alley from WMA, Matthew Davis (Blue Crush, Legally Blonde) from Paradigm, and Will Kemp (Step Up 2, Van Helsing) from CAA.
More as it comes in…

shocked and appalled! how can it be??? jimmy darmody unable to serve the needs of a client!!??!!
nah, can’t be. impossible.
Does it matter? She hasn’t worked in ages, turns down everything, and is a notorious pain in the butt
As long as Emmy’s mother is involved in her career, she’ll never get anywhere. She’s the definition of batshit crazy stage mom. What am I saying? She’ll probably never get anywhere, anyway.
She needs a new agent after whoever reps her let her be in the travesty that Dragonball looks to be. Good god…
That’s smart. After a decent part in Mystic River, she’s been a non-starter. I knew she was getting serious about her career when I saw her lingerie layout in this month’s GQ, (sad to say!). This just confirms it…
She really has no career…and that unflattering piece in Elle Magazine really hurt her way back when she was nominated for a Globe. How she’s difficult to handle.
She seems to be a decent actress and show promise, but is CAA really known for grooming clients? And if these previous posts are true (esp. of pain in the ass mom), then why bother with that on top of the extra out-going phone call work?
Poor Emmy..Shes such a pain in the ass to work with..That CAA cant even get her a job!!!!!..and when they do..she turns it down..I hope the layout in Details gets her a “Best Buy commercial”.But if any other agency checks on her reputation know one I fear will want to Rep her..Except maybe and Agency over in the Valley !!
Yawn. I’m sure the folks at CAA were delighted
the fact that “hwood actresses are difficult” is a stereotype that has haunted many starlets in hollywoo whether this is true or not the word is that emmys mom is no longer in her life and shes done dragonball which there are no horror stories from shes a talent and hasnt gotten her due,and this is hollywood there is never a shortage of great comeback stories and with this news it seems as tho she is poised to be next
Why would ANYONE with any talent go to William Morris. Gaby and John are sure to kill their careers. And if Brad Slater is on the team, watch out – dumb and more concerned about himself than his clients.
there was no creativity in the choices emmy made. other than “phantom” which was a terrific role for her, she’s been plugged into studio tentpole films that aren’t the right fit for her. she needs an agent who can convince her to take on challenging roles in challenging material, and not always make the “safest” choices.
Love Hamish, he is sooooo hilarious and adorable.
Emmy actually has made some risky choices- taking off a year from acting to write and record an album was against the advice of many. And just this year she starred in the indie “Dare” which got great reviews at Sundance. As for her mother, who knows. I’ve read that Emmy’s really great to work with
ICM continues to swoop up the best directors (and writers), in a few years they’re going to be a nominations factory.
Tom – as an agent for 13 years at one of “big 5,” I hate to agree but ICM actually does have an amazing group of emerging talent. Not only writers, directors but even actors. Give them 18-24 months and they will have both nominations and winners across the board. It is crazy! Even their comedy business is thriving. They finally communicate and share information (and speak well of one another). Wow!
And as usual…the shills in the ICM back-office continue to post their pro-ICM messages here. Just do a search and you’ll see some of their ridiculous postings on other topics. Main objective: Damage Control
ICM has been a sinking ship for YEARS now, guys…it’s almost a joke.
