• I guess being fired by Silverman is almost like getting the seal of approval for the rest of Hollywood.

  Normally, I’d think that would really stick in Silverman’s craw, but I’m not sure if he would even notice.

• I know Chernin’s the big kahuna and who’s not going to give him everything he wants… but let’s not forget one very important thing… Kevin Reilly and Katherine Pope did not get a long… not that it matters since Reilly owes everything to Chernin for allowing Liguori to bring him back in to the Fox fold after he bolted to NBC on the back of The Shield and a Nip/Tuck pilot. That said, Katherine’s a great exex and she got a job that people coveted.

• The stock is tanking and they reward this putz Chernin. I’ve heard about failing upwards, butt his chump isn’t even in the game.

  There must be some major thievery going on for him to keep his job. Then again Les Moonves still has a job

• I say – this is great news – big fees aside, this is an additional avenue for creatives to get their ideas produced, optioned, at least looked at — and Chernin and Pope are smart execs. This is good for Hollywood.

• Chernin did all right by Murdoch – he made Fox a continued player in the Biz. As for tanking stock? It’s ALL tanking! Chernin played his cards right getting out – one last hurrah before retiring no doubt. Besides, he can get Pope and her equiv on the film side, bust out a decent bizness and become one of those ‘smart’ producers.

• It is all so clubby. CineFileX is right. Pope has never proven herself. She’s just been hired alot. As far as Chernin goes he made bigger fish feel safe. I think that’s his talent. He’s not someone who loves TV or Movies. This is widget making for him. It is so funny how being dispassionate and ambitious can take you to very high places.
