Not that it was their choice. Since I reported back on December 6th that Universal didn’t renew Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. So now they have an 18-month first-look deal at Columbia Pictures starting April 1st. But everyone still thinks they’ll wind up at DreamWorks when that indie gets up and running with its financing.

It’s clear that the corporations running Hollywood have gone out of their minds. Who wouldn’t give anything to make movies with Kathleen Kennedy? Actors, writers, directors, crew, and producers have to get away from these global conglomerates. A new model must emerge.
So, let me understand this. They laid off 300 people yesterday, but have given a rich deal to these two. Good timing Lynton.
