Ugh, please throw quotes around the word spoof when you’re talking about Family Guy. What that show considers a spoof is to show its characters doing basically line-for-line readings of actual movies/shows.
I can’t believe FG even employs writers between all it “spoofs” and what it rips off from decades-old Simpsons episodes.
Family Guy simply isn’t funny, caters to a low class demographic, and is an anemic rip off of The Simpsons.
Sometimes I feel I’m the only person in the country that doesn’t find The Family Guy amusing.
Oh well.
Lazy, lazy, lazy. Ah, good ole Family Guy. Don’t work too hard.
“The Hills….of Quahog”
that is priceless!
hahahahahaha! i love it.
Family Guy is to comedians what The Jonas Brothers are to musicians.
This was an amusing show in its first season but American TV has never known when to quit. Even The Simpsons….how on earth is that still going? Who watches? Baffling.
P.S. “THE VIDEO YOU ARE TRYING TO WATCH CANNOT BE VIEWED FROM YOUR CURRENT COUNTRY OR LOCATION.”
Sigh. You should host the vids, Nikki. Don’t limit yourself to US only
Phew, I thought I was the only person in the world who found this show desperately unfunny.
wow that was really lauren’s voice. cool.
Ugghhh…I don’t know which is worse. Family Guy or the show it’s “spoofing.”
Family Guy represents the new sentiment in entertainment and American. “Legal thievery” FG uses the work of other people to retell old jokes and uses moments that have been done before. They are hacks of the highest order which makes them kings in our business. Music samplers, remakes, file sharers they are all the new jacks of a creatively bankrupt society.
It’s really easy to hate on Family Guy for being “unfunny,” “lazy,” “unfunny,” a “rip-off,” and “unfunny” (just to sample a few of the quotes above). And I agree, the story structure of current episodes is often pretty weak, and the spoofs are nowhere near as inspired as in Season 2 or 3.
But I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a Family Guy episode that didn’t make me laugh out loud at least once. And that’s an accomplishment that no standard multi-camera sitcom can boast.
Outside of those few truly great sitcoms (30 Rock, Arrested, et al.), Family Guy remains one of the funniest shows on TV, laugh-per-laugh.
