Obvious, stiffly drawn, and not terribly funny. As usual.
These cartoons are powerfully unfunny.
Is it just me or would these political cartoons better benefit us readers if they referenced something a little more timely? Maybe this week would have been the week to create one surrounding the WMA layoffs? Or the Jon Peters book? Or well . . . anything more relevant.
How naive, who brings a knife to a gunfight?!
Seriously, can your cartoonist draw any more visual interpretations of old Hollywood cliches? Did George Burns crawl out of the grave and pick up a pen?
wow, these cartoons sure are… hard-hitting.
Always fun in a room full of industry people.
Is the guy on the left Joel Silver?
Ok I get the Joel Silver part — is the other guy the studio head that croaked on Entourage?
Eh. I’m thinking this is an experiment that is failing. Your site is topical N. The Cartoons are not.
Not funny.
These cartoons are powerfully unfunny. Why are they on your otherwise current site?
Its only been, what, a decade since Joel Silver’s last big franchise hit?
This may have been relevant in 1986. And still not funny.
using the same title, how about a cartoon of Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto 69′ing with each other as JJ Abrams controls them with marionette strings, and an arrow pointed at him that reads “Overrated Director.”
This happens to be a very talented and clever graphic artist. If you people bitching about his work ever come to Chi-town, You are gonna feel pain.
INNOVATIVE! Perhaps if I toss out some other cliche’s right here and right now, we can avoid seeing them!
1) Casting Couch
Piracy
2) Box Office Congratulatory Ads
3) Strategically picking (or moving) an opening weekend
4) Cast being paid a lot of money and/or back end
5) Production shooting outside California and/or overseas
6) Actors as Waiters
7) Hiring your maid/dog walker/chauffer as a writer/actor/producer
Finger’s crossed people …
Actually, it’s quite befitting for Hollywood…and the knife speaks of back-stabbing for those of us who can’t see the correlation. I think the artist does a good job at showing how cruel and impersonal a person can be with a facade of a kiss or hug of admiration. Well done.
can these cartoons be any less revelatory?
Banal. At best,
Wow. Merciless commenters.
Can’t disagree, though.
The other guy is the real Ari, right? Arthur, um, you will find something you are GREAT at one day.
I like Captain Corndog’s idea. Can we see this please?
I’m still laughing!
Don’t drop your cartoonist, Nikki.

Those who’re pissed off about the cartoon, still haven’t gotten the knives outta their backs.
I would tell Arthur not to give up his day job but his day job is being John Kerry’s joke writer so I don’t know what to tell him.
