• The client exodus has begun. Chelsea was repped by Gaby Morgerman. Need I say more. When is Morgerman getting the ax? The only reason she’s still at WME is because of her husband. She’s literally put them out of the talent business. Good move Chelsea. Others will surely follow.

• That’s Gaby Morgerman’s client. Chelsea is no longer a dumb blonde. She got rid of Gaby and WMA which would only hurt her career. I hope Gabe loses all her clients. She deserves the worst and does nothing for her clients.

• She might be an a-hole, but what’s good for the goose…

  When she was on The Tonight Show, Leno made some dumb juvenile comment about a magazine shoot of Handler, saying something like you don’t look anything like that for real (duh, boys, those photos are always stupid fantasy.) Handler seemed insulted and took a couple of passive-aggressive swipes at Leno, and Michael Douglas, which was fun because they’re a couple of creepy old guys.

• Hans Schiff is a pleasant enough guy but small beer, destined for a career at middle management level (the guy’s already early 40s, had the same job Ben Silverman once held, not much to show for all those years at WMA, etc). I’m quite amazed CAA would have any interest in bringing him into the fold, thought he was destined for a Gersh, Paradigm, Inoovative — or worse. CAA must’ve got him at a bargain-basement price…or not done their due-diligence.

• Are you guys aware that Handler is a big talent now? Her show on E! got picked up and ratings are stellar. And she sells out her standup dates, which is big business. I think she’s hilarious.

• Jethro, you are the type of dicksplash that brings this site down – as L Weinstein called it – sitting in a Starbucks on your 4 year old ibook still poring over that terrible sub-boondock saints screenplay you’ve been ‘working on’ for years. Knowing a few industry names doesn’t make you part of the industry, having an imdb pro log in doesn’t give you the right to pass judgement on a guy you’ve never met, never worked with (unless maybe you worked with him to park his car once and he only tipped you buck)

• I am sick and tired of reading all this negative shit about Gaby Morgerman. As someone who has worked directly under her, I can tell you that she is both a great colleague and department head. In a business where bullshit reigns supreme, Gaby is unfailingly honest, and unflinchingly direct. In her role as department head, she is demanding but empathetic and her door is always open – literally and figuratively – to anyone having a problem and/or just needing some advice or guidance. And yes, I speak from personal experience. She is also good to younger agents and allows them direct access to her clients, their managers, etc. Perhaps most importantly, Gaby leads by example in how she manages to balance the challenges of a successful career with the demands of being a wife and mother. It is time for the Gaby bashing to end.

• I completely agree. Gaby is smart and honest and works hard for her clients. I have worked with her since 1993 and have have always found her to be forthright and to the point, and no bullshit. A good agent and person. Others should be so lucky.

• Just because Gaby doesn’t walking around all day smiling, waiving, and kissing everyone on both cheecks( not ass cheeks ) doesnt mean she is not a geat agent. She is in tune with what her clients needs are and handles a lot both in and out of the office.

• Hansy is one of the best agents working out there in reality. He is a straight shooter who put in the hours, understands the business, and always returns a call. In other words – he does his job and he does it well. Stop bitching about the good guys . . . as you can see he is leaving WM for CAA . . . his stock is rising and in these hard times – he is kicking butt, taking names and rising above all the chaos that is about to break out with WME and landing in a great place. He will kick butt. So Jethro, go to your coordinator mixer (as you are obviously stuck in the assistant-coordinator level), and get a “small beer”. Meh meh meh . . .

  I don’t know you, or Hans, or anyone else involved in this inane discussion, but…apparently a crash course regarding the difference between a FACT and an OPINION is in order, since you must have been asleep at Cal State Dominguez Hills on the day they were teaching it.

But it’s really embarassing that you rant on others for not backing up their assertions with facts like you do, when clearly you’re not and you don’t seem to grasp the distinction between the two.
