UPDATE: Fox has officially cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
FYI, I've removed the rumored Fox schedule because insiders tell me it's "close but no cigar".
- Fox Gives Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse' Second Season
- Fox OKs 'Brothers'
- 'Past Life' On FBC Fall Sked; 'Maggie Hill' Maybe Midseason
- 'AbFab', 'Eva Adams', 'Two Dollar Beer' All Dead At Fox
- Latest Network-By-Network Update On Renewals/Pickups
- 'Sons Of Tucson', 'Human Target' Ordered, 'Lie To Me' Renewed
- Fox; 'Sons Of Tucson' & 'Human Target' Join Musical 'Glee' On Schedule
- Fox Cancels Spike Feresten Talk Show
- Primetime Pilot Panic: The Hot List
wheres that brothers or sons of tucson show? I thought that got picked up
SYTYCD ends before the Fall season starts, so there are still some open spots to be filled. Hopefully, one of those will be Terminator.
Carn: SYTYCD is having a fall season. It was announced a couple of days ago. There will be a summer season and a fall season of SYTYCD.
Hm. Both Human Target and Dollhouse sent off to Fridays to die instead of giving either the promising partner of Fringe.
Of course, nothing that it makes more sense to send to die on Fridays. But still. Not a vote of confidence.
And what about masterwork?
I liked “The Unit”, which was produced by Fox, but aired on CBS. It looks like CBS is canceling “The Unit” so maybe Fox might take the show, which does pretty well in the ratings and cheaper to produce than most, according to a recent story in the L.A. Times.
BTW, is Fox ever going to be a full fledged network, with “dramatic” programing during the 10:00pm-11:00pm slot? They should have the news at 11:00pm, like the big three. There is a big hole left by NBC for dramatic programing, with Leno now at 10:00pm… Nows the time to make the move Fox. Fox could make big money with “The Unit” at 10:00pm.
Hey Brothers Dumbass-see above post.
Eh. Nothing here to really care about. I probably won’t watch Fox until January when “24″ and American idol” returns.
SYTYCD is having a fall season. Terminator has been officially canceled. Way to pay attention.
Nah, Terminator was canceled a while ago. The amazing thing is that you would think that Fox would hold out to see the opening numbers for T4 to see if they could tie that in to a third season – especially considering how season two ended…
Anyway, the official word will be through shortly, but T:TSCC will not be returning, at least this season. One small beacon of hope? Fox *has* brought shows back from the dead before…
USA Today and THRFeed looks different on Friday.
USA Today has either comedies or a reality show paired with Dollhouse. THRFeed still isn’t sure what’s being placed there.
We’ll find out in a few hours, I guess. That’s if another source, TVByTheNumbers, is right about the release at 11:30am Eastern.
Human Target is well liked by Fox, so why not put Past Life in the death slot instead?
I’d like FOX to bring Virtuality back from the dead.
What a shame. ‘Sarah Connor’ became a fine show on its second season. I can’t believe ‘Dollhouse’ got renewed over it, but those Whedonites would buy every damn DVD disc set of any show that hack makes.
(Puts on fire-proof suit to fend the hordes of flaming Whedonites fanboys to follow)
Sarah Connor was a way better show than Dollhouse or Fringe. But I guess Fox doesn’t like shows featuring a female lead with an actual point of view.
Well, with Sarah Connor cancelled, there isn’t a singe show on FOX I will bother to watch. Good job, guys. Now I won’t even see your promos that might get me to tune in something new.
It’s a shame T:TSCC didn’t get renewed. It started off slow, but halfway through this last season, it got really interesting, and frankly was head and shoulders above Dollhouse.
And, yes, not waiting until T4 was a pretty bone-headed move.
But, hey, it’s NBC! Oh wait, no, it’s Fox.
Dear Fox,
Fuck you for canceling SCC.
You’ve officially lost a viewer for good.
Regards,
Inside
Sarah Connor was the best show on Fox as far as I’m concerned. RIP. Too bad. Dollhouse is ridiculous. Fringe is interesting but lacks the substantive character arcs that made Sarah Connor awesome. Agree with Seta…seems silly to cancel a show with large film tie-in plus built in story architecture…
It also, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, made me believe that Brian Austin Green has matured into a pretty decent actor.
The weakest link on the show was whatever that kid’s name is who plays John Connor.
To all those people calling those above them in comments names: this post has been repeatedly edited, with new information, and the comments are based on previous versions. The same thing happened in a previous Fox post when Dollhouse was officially announced as renewed.
Being rude doesn’t do anything but make you look bad.
Unbelievable Fox. This show was great and with T4 coming out, they should have atleast gave a partial season greenlight to see if the film would have boosted ratings which are better than stupid Dollhouse’s.
Yeah…Wow…
SCC was a good show with some good actors that had really become entertaining.
Dollhouse continues to show that it was an idea on a napkin at some random lunch date. It should have stayed there. I thought of all people Joss Whedon could make it good, but so far it looks like his best work is behind him.
Sad choice by FOX.
The TSCC was a very poorly executed show (ridiculous writing that disregarded the cannon, terrible cast except for Glau, looked cheap, etc.), but it should have been given a reprieve, if for no other reason that T4 is going to be a monster and there would have been a lot of synergy to exploit.
Fox is brutal…keeping all the garbage they have on but getting rid of Terminator….there would be so much interest in terminator after the movie is released….nice job Fox…
I’d wait to see the Box Office for “Salvation” before counting TSCC out. Money changes even the most made up of minds.
Just sayin’.
I wish FOX would give Virtuality a chance…
It’s highly unlikely TSCC would have benefited from T-4 coming out. The intent was the opposite.
The obvious intent for WB producing a Terminator TV series at all was to server as a PR lead-in and attract new fans to the franchise before T-4 came out, and presumably also to maintain interest in between the subsequent movies.
Instead, the show did the opposite. It damaged the franchise (slightly) by being poorly done and not representing the franchise concept properly due to its overemphasis on Sarah Connor, the lack of sufficient action, etc.
That’s why the lid was nailed down on whether the show was canceled, even though everyone knew it would be – because they didn’t want any negative franchise PR before the movie opened.
That’s also why it was announced on a Sunday, when nobody but the show fans would notice, and AFTER the premiere of T-4.
I STILL would like Nikki to find out if WB is still interested in producing a Terminator series IF the series could make money and not damage the franchise concept.
