Ex-Jim Henson Company CEO Charles Rivkin has been announced as President Obama’s choice for Ambassador to France. A major California fundraiser for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, Rivkin is the CEO of Wildbrain animation studios, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council — a group of individuals from outside the federal government that advises the Homeland Security secretary — and a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy. His father, William R. Rivkin, was ambassador to Luxembourg under John F. Kennedy and ambassador to Senegal and Gambia for Lyndon Johnson.

Anyone else have an odd picture of a Homeland Security Force made up entirely of Muppets in their head after reading that?
Where does he stand on the environment? It’s not easy being green.
Spent quite a lot of time coming up with that, huh, batsu?
Charlie will do a great job.
Makes sense that a former Henson topper would be the rep for the frogs. Wakka wakka!
Charlie will be fantastic at this gig!
