I have no problem with Ben Silverman having fun, or even videotaping it and having it being posted on the web. We are living in an age where, more than ever, we are starting to see business leaders as ordinary people, doing ordinary things.
However, when inside and outside the industry, you are seen as not the most competent leader? Then a video like this does not necessarily help to repair that image.
This doesn’t hurt, but, it doesn’t help, if that makes sense.

Silverman is a total tool, but he does sorta looks hot in a towel. Still, the subtext of this video clip is both embarrassing & troubling: THIS moron…doing a cringe-worthy, faux-white-boy-whack-blues riff and mugging for the camera in some palatial country club men’s spa lockerooom…reeks of the worst kind of arrogance, ego, and sense of entitlement that defines typical Hollywood behavior. Falling upward…again.
That company has fired so many good people because of “the economy” yet people like that arrogant, egotistical druggie continue to suck the marrow out of the company and make a mockery of it. Only in “Hollywood” would this be tolerated.
It would be laughable if it was not so sad to GE shareholders like myself.

How can GE have a Chairman of a division be this stupid? incompetent? Moronic? Pick your choice of words. It’s one thing that this guy cannot pick a hit show if his life depends on it, but it’s another thing entirely for this man to be screwing around having a “fratboy” time and not caring one iota for the shareholders.
I, for one, will be calling Jeff Immelt tomomorow and demanding he deal with this moron. This is why my shares are in the toilet and please don’t blame the economy again. this is absolutely ridiculos and I have had it. It’s unbelievable and not at all funny. Our company is in a shambles. We need to top managment now!

This doesn’t seem egregious to me- he’s poking some fun at himself even. And it really doesn’t matter what Ben Silverman does- he rubbed some very important people the right way a while ago, and he is a product of nepotism as so many executives in this town are. He will always have a powerful position somewhere in the industry, so it doesn’t seem wrong for him to feel entitled to act how he likes. Sorry to disappoint those seeking his comeuppance, but mogulhood is not a meritocracy.
Personally, I’m more embarrassed for Ben that he would be photographed in a blue silk scarf with skulls on it as if he was even remotely that hip. Loved how you draped it! zexy!

I must say, Ben looks attractively tanned in a towel and demonstrates good singing skills and timing. Who knew such a busy and accomlished executive would be so talented creatively. It’s nice to see another, more humane side to this man, giving his time to charity and skiing for the poor children.
Ben was picked on when he was a boy. He was the quintessential 98 lb. weakling. He’s now making up for all those years of getting his tighty whities pulled up his ass crack and turning the tables. Make fun of his ever disappearing hairline and his Eddie Munster eyebrows. He hates that. But he did get the last laugh. Right now he’s most likely getting stoned at some country club. You go Benny!

the bottom line is; we were trying, in that locker room, as we got dressed, to write/rehearse something for fisher to do at a benefit for kids that was in an hour. take a look at the entire video (go to youtube and search bppic.com). at the end fish does a really sweet/funny version of what we came up with. it is unfortunate that this celebration of a very worthwhile charity had to be taken out of context and weaponized. ultimately, mean spiritedness delivers no end and tends to go round and round…rob morrow

This is mockery and I’m embarassed. NBC needs to shape up…no wonder it’s lost so much credibility. Those at the helm need not be rewarded but overtaken by people who want to run a good, rewarding network.
