Gawker has been leaked an ABC internal parody video starring the network’s marketing heads Mike Benson and Marla Provencio in which they “pimp” a made-up show called The Smoking Clown. The site claims it was made a while back for an ABC meet-and-greet where each department explains what it is they do. It’s not clear if this 14 profanity-heavy minute video was ever shown. Keep an eye out for Lost co-creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse playing themselves.

Gross.
Actually LOST was co-created by Damon Linedlof and J.J. Abrams. Carlton Cuse joined the series post-pilot as Exec Producer/co-showrunner in the first season.
It was shown in a meeting last year. This was not the final version, but pretty close to it.
Actually, like all ABC comedy, not funny.
Networks do this all the time. I’m only shocked at how long it is.
I worked under Mike and Marla’s direction for a long time; and they are two of the most talented Marketing executives in the entertainment industry. This clearly doesn’t represent their work for the ABC Entertainment Division.
Ultimately, this should have been a “who cares?” People leak stuff all the time. Most people never get in trouble fo leaking and yet some others lose their jobs. Interesting.
Believe it or not, this is how creatives really think and work in Hollywood.
It’s the elephant in the room.
William Goldman once said, “Nobody knows anything.” They’re so afraid of losing their jobs they attack others to make it appear they’re the best or better.
They tell others their craft is horrible, they’ll never make it, nobody will like it, yet they produce ‘comedy’ like this.
Now you know why television advertising is like making sausage.
You just don’t want to know.
If ABC had any morals, they’d be fired. Who knows. They’ll probably just win more awards.
Judith is right, “People leak stuff all the time. Most people never get in trouble fo [sic] leaking and yet some others lose their jobs. Interesting.”
Yes, always interesting.
