John Ferriter was the only one among the 20 William Morris board members to vote against the merger. Yes, even Mark Itkin voted yes… I hear Itkin still hasn’t decided whether to stay or go to CAA. But don’t expect his unscripted television department colleague Ferriter to decide his own future soon. UPDATE: WMA told me John was in ICU at Cedars Sinai Hospital because of complications from a blood clot and severe infection but is recovering.

John is a good guy, I hope he’s ok.
I like John too. a nice guy & I certainly wish him well & hope for a speedy recovery. That said, he is one on the most below-average agents I have ever dealt with. How he ever got on the board is beyond me (I know they did it because of Kaplan).
Itkin is only reason that dept has been successful – he is amazingly effective, but not strong in his admin skills – particularly for the agents/staff that work for him. He needs better-smarter agents around him.
John is the very best there is. He is one of the nicest and most generous guys in the business. My thoughts are with him.
bottom line is Ryan Seacrest will go with Ferriter whether he leaves or stays at WME.
Well they finally admitted it. The powers that used to be, have told a number of WMA agents who were inquiring about there job security, that the guys at Endeavor were making all those decisions. So I guess when Jim and Dave told the company in various meetings that WMA has the money and WMA would be in control, they were lying. Hum surprised. Nikki throughout this entire time Jim and Dave keep telling all of us not to believe the blogs aka you. What we all learned is that you were accurate 100% of the time.
By the way has anyone seen Jim, Dave or Irv? Ari has been telling everyone that he see’s how easy it was to take over the company and what an amazing deal he got.
Good luck to all clients who will remain
Get well soon, John!
I’m a veteran WMA employee and I’d have to say that I have tremendous respect for John. He’s not only one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met, he’s also refreshingly honest.
As soon as he gets better, I’m confident that he will get back on track and continue to succeed in this business.
Dave Wirtschafter is quite possibly the only decent human being working in Hollywood. He’s smarter than you. Regardless of how this merger plays out, he can sleep at night.
I deal with John all the time and he’s just a good dude…plain and simple. Hope to see him back soon.
Bummer. Get well John!
I worked at William Morris Agency for over six years and was very lucky to work with John Ferriter. John brought in a package to WMA that I took to him. He was always open and ready to listen to new projects. He and Mark Itkin were the first to embark on the enterprising of Reality Television. I hope John continues to have much success. Perhaps Management with Ryan Seacrest is next if he decides to leave WMA. Branding is key! Good luck to Ari Emmanuel afterall he is the hollywood agent for the President Barack Obama.
As a development person, I’ve dealt with many agents – John is a stand up guy and my by far my favorite agent to work with, I wish him a speedy recovery and am pulling for him.
I too have had dealings with JF and he was always a real guy. I wish him well in both his health and future. He outta take off and do his own thing – I’d be surprised if Ryan left him behind…
I hope John is doing well. In working with him on and off over the years, I have found he has the class of the old guard agent while keeping the vision to package cutting edge viable television. His ability to package -idea-talent-finance- will allow him to write his how ticket regardless of what happens at WME. I’m sure they’re trying to keep him. They would be fools to let him go.
John saved my ass once. He’s a gooooood dude. He didn’t have to do it.

John is a very impressive guy and works harder for his clients then anyone out there
John is the only stand up guy in a town of douche.
John rocks!
