I'm told Elie Dekel has resigned as EVP of 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising but will stay on for another month. Sources tell me the studio will likely upgrade the position because of so many franchises in the works.

Carl Icahn Now Wants ALL Of Lionsgate
Good. Fox’s marketing and licensing efforts have been PISS-poor, which means Dekel is inept.
Bring Gail Harrison back, please. She’s still on the lot.
Im not surprised at this exit. Fox needs a hugh makeover; they are over due for restructuring especially in their theatrical marketing dept.
Get rid of Tony Sella, please. He’s still on the lot.
Unknown — You’ve got to be joking — or you are carrying a grudge. As much as its fashionable these days to hate all things “Fox,” its a fact that their theatrical marketing department is regarded by most to be the very best in the business. L+M is a whole different animal and hugely underutilized at most studios beyond Disney.
I have to agree with Unknown. Fox’s marketing department is not the best in the business. If you call the marketing campaign on films like Wolverine, and Night at the Museum, Day the Earth Stood Still, Max Payne, etc. the best in the business, then something is seriously WRONG! Good Marketing, for example, is Hang Over, UP, etc.
International run by Lumbard is very strong. U.S leaders have always been week. Give the brit the job.
