Every single line a cliche — not an original or creative frame or sound in this trailer — likely not in the film either if this is any preview.

If they don’t close on Body Electric, I’m not going!
Fame’s going to be done in by reality TV. Isn’t this premise a show (or two) on MTV nowadays?

This movie will probably make money overall, but it deserves to go down in flames…

‘Generation Fame’. Well that’s the problem, isn’t it?

Hey Hollywood, once you have remade everything, will you remake it again? This isn’t just sad, it’s PATHETIC.

Much better than the first trailer a few months back, but from reading the script, seems like it will lack the heart and the fresh, raw edge that the original had and that helped set the tone for the post disco 80s…further proof that I’ve aged out of the target demo for this one!
I think it looks amazing. It’s a genre film and will deliver. Music, teens, feel good aspirations. Every generation needs its FAME. I loved this trailer and the look of the film. I love the fresh, new cast. I hope it does boffo numbers. We are in need of a summer film for audiences who are not teen boys.

The original was nothing but cliches also – and I saw it three times. This one looks great.

It’s interesting to watch (shitty) movies from the 80′s being retooled for brain dead consumers of the 21st century. The only good thing going for the original – as well as a lot of big budget movies of that period – is its gritty outdoor photography of New York (RIP). These remakes are all numb, antiseptic green screen fantasies for SSRI/Purell fetishists…burn Hollywood burn…

I saw it with the Hangover. It seemed out of place though.

I don’t understand the buzz behind this. It uses this decade’s “Movie Musical” cliches to update the original version which has been ripped of COUNTLESS times already. What’s new about this? Show the trailer for “Nine” when it comes out…

Mmm no, already saw it in the theater last week before either “Up” or “Away We Go” (forget which).

This is going to be huge, not only with the new generation but those who remember the original Fame. Fame, set in New York City and showing the best great talent of our youth and their vast talents will be a blast to watch. I love to say it. I can’t wait!

actually, the fame trailer was in the previews for UP when I saw it last weekend.
I have to say, as a big fan of the original, I am surprisingly shocked at how good it looks. They went naturalistic and dramatic, which is what it wants to be.
Re: What a jokes comment about every line being a cliche and blasting every single frame? Your absurd hyperbole makes your agenda pretty transparent. Let me guess — someone involved with the film screwed you over at some point? You applied and got rejected from the High School of Performing Arts? You’re older sibling tormented you constantly as a child with the Fame soundtrack playing in the background, and now you’re conditioned ala A Clockwork Orange?
Hope it lives up to the early promise!

I didn’t know… Now I’m looking forward to see the Singing in the Rain remake with Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
