Twentieth Century Fox execs today clarified a few of my details about Wall Street 2. Javier Bardem is not onboard yet, but "he is who we want" to play the stock-shorting hedge fund manager set up in the story as the villain. Oliver Stone hasn't met with him yet, and the studio hasn't negotiated his deal yet. The start date is now at the end of August, not August 10th. And, as of right now, there is no release date yet scheduled, just contemplated. Otherwise, spot on. (See my previous: Hedge Fund Is Villain In Oliver Stone's 'Wall Street 2')

Carl Icahn Now Wants ALL Of Lionsgate
I won’t be surprised to hear Javier isn’t doing the film..I know first hand how his agent can flip him on something that he’s interested in…
she’s a deal breaker…not deal maker.
As a fan of the original film I’m very excited about this. Allan Loeb is one of the sickest writers in Hollywood and I’m happy for Shia. He gets a bad rap but he’s actually a nice kid if you don’t tick him off by being a total douche. I liked what Stone did with “W” and I’m looking forward to seeing the likes of LeBouf, Bardem and Douglas square off. Recipe for success me thinks.
“The Graduate 2: Plastics”! “Easy Rider 2: Still Ridin’”! “Taxi Driver 2: Travis’s Revenge”! “Breakfast at Tiffany’s 2: Lunch at Tiffany’s”! “La Dolce Vida 2: Mind the Whale”!
Is that a 2010 release or 2011?
I must be one of the few who actually could care less about this. Oliver Stone should do something else. I like him as director, and he just lost points with me for considering this sequel, practically exploiting the real-life economic crisis for gain.
I think I’ll pass.
