HOLLYWOOD, CA — Philip Berk was elected President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the year 2009-2010 at the organization’s annual election meeting. A member of the association for 32 years, Berk is serving his seventh term as HFPA president. He is a correspondent for FilmInk (Australia) and Galaxie (Malaysia). Hans Spurkel was elected vice president and Meher Tatna was elected executive secretary. The results of a runoff for the position of treasurer will be announced tomorrow. The new Board of Directors is comprised of Jorge Camara (Chairman), Ali Sar, Ruben Nepales, Theo Kingma, Armando Gallo and Frances Schoenberger (alternate). The annual HFPA Installation Luncheon to honor the officers and directors will be held later this summer, at which time the Association makes its annual donations to non-profit organizations and film schools.

Hello attention HFPA, we the collective WE don’t like you and laugh at you behind your back Seriously. Our hope during the strike was someone would realize we don’t need the Golden Globes and then you could no longer use the studios as your personal vacation planners.
