She went out fighting the good fight. I think she was my first celeb crush. RIP
2 icons, RIP!
Both iconic figures in their own way. May they both RIP.
Well, now we know why Ed went ahead,
he had to announce “Here’s Farrah!”
RIP Ed McMahon
RIP Farrah Fawcett
Farrah fought bravely with her cancer to the end. Rest now.
As night falls for us, storms gather to cry for you ( MI), laylé cannot hold your spirit and as the sun rises we will always remember your smile. Think of this angel Farrah, I saw a young man riding his bike, Texas hat turned backwards full of life. Such was the gift you gave us. I never knew you were a scientist, you hid that well. As it rains and your family cries for you, don’t despair. You will have so much fun away from this place; when we see your smile here on earth we will know what a gift you left your fans. Until the next world, peace
This is very sad news. Farrah was one of the most beautiful women ever. I had her poster in my room as a boy and got plenty of use out of it. One of the nicest people too. I might visit her in Play Boy and give it one more pull in her honor.
Farrah. What was not to love?
An icon, A beauty, a brain, and a class act.
The little divas of today should take the example to heart.
Shine on, Farrah.
As steeped in sex as Charlie’s Angels was, it’s premiere was at an historic time in TV history. Little girls got to see women save the the world or at least their little part of town. Instead of watching June Cleaver, we got to look up to a bionic woman, a wonder woman and three young women who broke free from the police academy.
As a young girl I didn’t see the giggle, or at least I tended to ignore the giggle I wasn’t ready to accept. Instead, I saw women having their own cars and apartments, and getting the upper hand on the bad men in the world. I loved it.
Charlie’s Angels was part of the first wave of “girl power” (sorry Spice Girls). It’s hard to believe the icons of my youth are now in their sixties and succumbing to cancer.
It’s a very sad day for me.
8movies5plays – beautifully said
Sadday, no one wants to think about you pathetically yanking your dick, least of all Farrah. You nauseated a lot of people with the image. Why do guys always think everyone wants to hear about their dicks?
Farrah was a courageous empowered risk taker, not crude masturbatory fodder.
The fascinating aspect of that poster is not your gross adolescent dick pullings (which sadly hasn’t changed in 30 years) but is that Farrah took ownership of her poster. This was powerful business acumen for anyone but especially a woman in the 70s who was dismissed as a sex symbol. She did important memorable work like Burning Bed and Extremities. But, of course, that doesn’t relate to your dick either.
I was Farrah’s PA on the film Double Exposure AKA Margaret Bourke-White, so I worked with her every day for weeks. I found her to be sweet and friendly – a hard working pro. It is a good film to check out if you haven’t seen it. She was the kind of person who said “please” and “thank you” to everyone.
