Los Angeles, CA, June 18, 2009 — Universal Studios Hollywood’s Studio Tour trams are now newly equipped as “mobile movie theaters” with hi-def video monitors, all-new video content and state-of-the art audio systems. The re-opening of Courthouse Square marks a milestone in the largest set construction project in Hollywood history, an ongoing project undertaken by the studio following the four-acre June 2008 fire that impacted several famous film locations on the historic studio backlot. All of the other backlot locations are set to open in the spring of next year. Courthouse Square, now fully restored, is the world’s most-photographed town square, and the site of over a thousand movie and TV shoots dating back to the 1940s. The location is widely known from the Back to the Future film series and home to the CBS hit drama Ghost Whisperer.

Did they really just say “Hillsboro?” Even a moron knows Marty McFly’s home town was Hill Valley
NOT Hillsboro. Marty’s home town is the uniquely named town of Hill Valley.
Man, who the heck proof-read that release? “Trams” is misspelled and Courthouse square is widely known as Hill Valley’s main square in BTTF, not “Hillsboro.”
Yeah, BTTF doesn’t take place in Tampa, FL so I’m guessing you meant to say “Hill Valley” there at the end.
Just happened to see the revamped tram ride with all the hi-def screens last week and it’s awful. It’s just like having a TV in a restaurant: too loud, intrusive, distracting, and yet somehow impossible not to watch. So you ride around the studio staring at the screens. Plus, lots and lots of witless commentary and non-jokes from Access Hollywood and Whoopi Goldberg.
