Milos Forman, a two-time Best Director Oscar-winner (One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Amadeus), and Lynne Ramsey, the 2000 BAFTA Most Promising Newcomer (Ratcatcher), were signed by Endeavor’s Chris Donnelly and Ari Emanuel during the Cannes Film Festival before that agency and William Morris were acting as one. Forman has also helmed The People vs. Larry Flynt, Man On The Moon, and the recent Goya’s Ghosts. Ramsay has had two short films, Small Deaths and Gasman, win the Cannes Prix Du Jury and directed the feature Morvern Callar. Her next project is We Need to Talk About Kevin.

Who fucking cares… CAA just got James Cameron and Tommy Lee Jones.
Like I said, Ari is a beast, if they follow his lead he will have WME on CAA’s level.
Donnelly actually knows how to sign as opposed to just inheriting clients? huh.
Maybe they can hook Forman up with some great material. I think the two-time Oscar winner still has one more great one left in him.
the agent business is not a popularity contest. there is neither a commandment that says “thou shalt love thy agent,” nor one that says anyone else has to, either. the really successful agents who adeptly bull-doze their paths while taking no prisoners don’t seek adoration from clients, colleagues or peers, and more often than not, it isn’t offered. what is offered by the aforementioned is envy, respect and awe (although mostly cloaked in the unmistakable ass-kissing of fraternity pledges.)
regardless of all the conjecture and gossip and jealousy and disdain flung at the current occupant of the Lincoln Bedroom, i find it hard to believe that any legitimate creative talent seeking a successful and lucrative career in today’s marketplace could be better served by an agent of less tenacity, insight, bravado, intelligence, influence and reach than that of Mr. Emanuel. regardless of reality or perception– he has changed the playing field and hopefully will provide a legitimate alternative for representation to what has become the status quo of alphabet soup groupthink. whether or not he is our idea of a pin-up boy, few will have the audacity to ignore his telephone calls (at least until the checks clear.)
Oh– and if Ari should have to leave a message, you can be sure that it won’t be under the name “anonymous.”
Is Lynne Ramsay really a blogworthy sign? Not much money to be made there… But, get ‘em WME!!!
still feel that way. her film will be best pix

I’ve worked with Lynne Ramsay. I love Lynn Ramsay. But yeah… I have to agree.
She’s a talent, no doubt. But if she ever makes more than a hundred bucks for WME I’ll eat my hat and the coat than came with it.
