I’m told actress Rachelle Lefevre, who played “Victoria” in the first two films, will be replaced by well known actress who’s also a redhead, Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron Howard’s daughter) in the upcoming ECLIPSE, the 3rd film in the Twilight Saga franchise. Lefevre has scheduling conflicts after playing the part in the first two films. I hear Summit Entertainment is bracing for the rabid Twilight fans to bite back because of the change. (They don’t want anything to change in their Twilight Zone.)

Something is fishy here. This movie would feature the most screen time for Rachelle. I highly doubt she and her people wouldn’t move heaven and earth to make her schedule accommodate Eclipse. I suspect something more is going on behind the scenes. All signs indicate that she is a professional so something is up.
I’ll say again what I said during the werewolf casting thing, why should anything change? The first movie was wildly successful and those cast members are part of it – why are they supposed to dump all those people now and sign up more famous actors? That’s the very action we should be ripping studios over, but for some reason (and I’ve never addressed “Nicki” directly in posting here before) you seem to be desperate for them to do so – directly saying such the first time, and now implying by innuendo here. I don’t get it.
It was reported that she went to extraordinary lengths to LAND the role in the first place; doesn’t sound kosher for sure.
Bryce Howard looks way too old to be Victoria. She looks closer to 40 than a teenager. I guarantee teens will be asking “Who is this old lady?” We do notice when Hollywood tries to pass geriatrics as teens in their movies. It’s a huge joke in school.
She’s a phenomenal actress and a really special woman. Worked with her. Don’t see what BDH is gonna bring that Rachelle can’t or hasn’t already. FISHY.

I didn’t care that her father and her name got her into the business but damn, they keep shoe-horning her into movies just because of who she is and she’s TERRIBLE.
She sucked in Lady In The Water (then again an awful movie)and Terminator Salvation and now she takes a job away from another actress who’s built the character1

Agree. Can’t believe anyone would believe such blatant spin. She is going to give up such a role?? No way. Summit saw that despite how big of a franchise this was, they were not going to be able to depend on an essential no name to help sell the third movie.
Has Summit not learned anything from WB and the Harry Potter series? Cast continuity is a big part of the success of that franchise, and as the TWILIGHT Saga continues, the fans will continue to grow attached to those actors as well. The “official” story of Rachelle not being available isn’t believable in the slightest. I only hope that fans show Rachelle the same respect and dedication they showed Taylor Lautner when Summit tried to replace him. Shame on you, Summit.
I think this a quality issue first and foremost. Her character is a major player in the upcoming movie, and Summit or the Director just have no confidence that she can perform the dramatic task at hand. If that is indeed the case then my heart goes out to Rachelle, actors are the most sensitive creatures on earth. I can only imagine the level of self doubt going through right now. Hope she bounces back.

I agree with SayWhat. There is no conflict. This is Summit paying back Ron Howard for something. Watch for a deal between Ron Howard and Summit in the near future. Rachelle was very excited about Eclipse. At Comic Con less than a week ago she said that she couldn’t wait to start filming. Twilight fans will never accept Howard as Victoria.
Summit should be bracing themselves…this seems like a ploy to get at Opie through his kid. Mark my words Summit will have a Ron Howard film soon. Don’t get me wrong BDH is a brilliant actor but this is a strategic business move and nothing more.

Anyway, getting replaced by a more recognizable name does indeed suck. Thank God they never did that in the Harry Potter movies.
