• It’s a little sad that such a poorly written, acted, directed movie like Transformers can make soooo much money! (note, the below the line work in the film is excellent)

  All this money at Paramount, and Hollywood still seems like it doesn’t have any job creation.

• Yeah, *sigh*, only $1 BILLION – halfway through the calendar year. Those poor, poor broke studios. They should fire more people and pay the actors and crew even less so they can afford to stay in business.

  We have all forgotten just how much money ONE MILLION dollars is, not to mention one BILLION. $1B equals ten HUNDRED million (or one thousand million, if you will) dollars.

  And still they cry ‘poor’.

• Let’s not forget that’s $1 Billion is gross REVENUE. Paramount did not “make” $1 billion–that’s not profit. You have to subtract all their costs to determine that. Such as actors, directors, below the line salaries, production, F/X, distribution, marketing, etc. I’m not defending Paramount or its business decisions, just trying to make the facts clear.
