So which is more pathetic… That Michael Eisner is desperate for personal publicity? That he gets his Hollywood insider information now from reading newspapers? That he’s pitching dumb TV shows to his former competitor Viacom and not to Disney? That Nickelodeon TV prez Cyma Zarghami thought Eisner was phoning her looking for a freebie as “another zillionaire too cheap to pony up for a suite at the hotel” despite the more than $1 billion in salary, bonuses, and stock options he raked in during his 21 years as Head Rat at Disney. Or that, in The New York Times today, he appears to take credit for every idea during his tenure?

You’ve got to be kidding me, you’ve never heard of the game these CEOs and studio heads play where they out-brag each other on who has the most luxurious gifts and accomodations paid for by someone else? Nothing is more condescending and vicious than the film exec who was sweet as pie at your hotel until he finds his friend has something nicer. He/she will make your world a living hell until you upgrade him.
Case in point: You have to be nice to people on the way up “cause you’ll meet them on the way down.
hand raised!
*hand raised, with one finger prominent*
Come on! Even Diller is still touting that HE was the mastermind behind the Movie-of-the-Week! And, how many years ago was that?! Who the %#*! cares?!
didn’t eisner have his own show on MSNBC or something?
wow, just goes to show you that even the most powerful fade fast. eisner was untouchable at the height of his rein.
I caught Eisner on Marketplace. Equal parts self serving and clueless.
*both hands raised* he needs to retire NOW!
Two fingers to the sky, and I ain’t sayin’ PEACE
Clearly I’m in the minority but I like Eisner.
His reign at Disney made me a ton of loot.
I guess it’s a handicap to be smart and talented.
