Another sepia-toned pic from sepia-infused Universal... Here's the trailer for The Wolfman, about which there's tremendous curiosity because its release date has been pushed back three times -- from February 13th, 2009, to April 3rd, 2009, to November 6th, 2009, to now February 12th, 2010 -- and re-shoots were done in May. On the trailer, Rick Baker's transformative skills look as good as ever. This first trailer for The Wolfman will be attached to Inglourious Basterds in theaters Friday.

I am surprised they made this movie. But you know, the Art Direction looks good and it’s a handsome production.
Will it make money? Of course not.
Is it an unintentional comedy? Yes. I’ll sneak in after seeing Avatar for the 4th or 5th time.
Boring.
Vampires are sexy and want something. Wolfpeople are hairy, ugly and never fuck anything. I love benicio del torro and all, but theres a reason there wasnt an a list director on this…its a hard one to pull of.
WOW! That looks awesome!
This looks really terrific! Let’s see if Universal knows what to do with a good movie!
Personally I an waiting for a remake of Breakin. Hope the remake Breakin II, Electric Bugaloo, too. There is a lot of value in these mid 80’s urban fad dance movies just waiting to be exploited. Forget the monsters and the superheroes. Bring on the baby swipes and uprocks.
Production values look great. But I’m so bored already — can’t anyone in Hollywood make something new and fresh?
Looks cool. Maybe Universal is finally getting its act together…
Looks like a really expensive Hammer film. Looks cool. But then I’m out of the demographic.
Sheesh, how boring does that look?
Love the look of it. I’m interested in checking it out.
Daniel-
you spew bullshit and whine about being bored. there’s a good reason: YOU WORK IN THE INDUSTRY! THIS IS YOUR FUCKING JOB! Your passion has become tedious and now you sit like a bloated cow at your desk complaining.
Go become an FSO for a year and build latrines in a third-world country. You’ll be helping your fellow man more than at present. When you return, the movies will seem a whole lot more interesting.
Or continue letting us know how the production values are great but you’re bored already, gaylord.
I thought this was about Wolfman Jack..oh well. Looks like…Coppola’s Dracula. I might go see it. Little to much CGI but what else is new?

They do. All the time. Then comes “the notes”.
“Wolfpeople are hairy, ugly and never fuck anything.”

That’s hilarious!
Finally a werewolf movie worth watching! There have been so many cheesy vampire flicks and tv series in the last ten years-yawn.
Same canvass as Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Nice cut and paste job…NOT!!!
Hollywood just recycles old movie polts with a twist… it’s creative, if you call lipstick on a pig creative.
Hollywood needs an injection of new talent if you want anything fresh. And some of the old boy execs need to retire – it’s like having your dad telling you what to watch.
Don’t joke about remaking BREAKIN 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO, someone somewhere is crunching the numbers through the marketing computer. If COMPUSTAT says there’s an audience, that baby is greenlit.
what is this post-roll ad after the trailer? ridiculous…
Its about time..Del Toro is Genius.. but I know someone at Universal has a “silver bullet” for a brain and will fuck this up..
Well, finally. Actually looks pretty good, despite the CGI stuff. I’d like to think it could be a hit, but I concede it may just be too old fashioned for the nodern audience (I’m looking in your direction, guy who’s already decided AVATAR is a masterpiece- yeah, because there’s no way a director who hasn’t made a film in 12 years could let you down, like Lucas did…)
If this isn’t the end of either Langley or Linde/Shmuger, they are invincible. Wait til Holmes bombs first because of its lame steampunk.
This trailer does not look that different from the trailer released a year ago!
Didn’t Mark Romanek leave this project because Universal wouldn’t give float him the budget he wanted, but then after Johnston turns in a cheap cut they end up reshooting the fucking thing anyway?
I think it looks cool. way better than the Avatar trailer.
I hope the film isn’t as over-produced as the trailer, what with fades, whooshes, flash cuts and other stock tricks. The appeal of wolfman lore is atmosphere and irony, not operatic gore. John Landis and Joe Dante have done successful turns in the past, but this one…?
Trailer looks pretty good!
Why is there no full screen on your player, that really bites…
Very interested in this. It’s a remake, but it looks a helluva lot more exciting and lavishly produced than the teaser trailer for “Avatar” (which was a huge disappointment for someone following its development).
I know. Let’s mix Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” with “American Werewolf in London” and, hey presto, genius – we have the same old take on the same old mythology. Even better, Hollywood will swallow it. Because it can’t help but think within the same commercial box. It’s a Twitter town – followers following followers; creative sheep. In a town where everyone is as petrified as saying ‘yes’ as they are saying ‘no’, the end result is the tried and tested safe bets or tent-poles. The Wolfman clearly sunk its teeth into, and ravaged, originality a long, long time ago. But hey – “great production though”. Will the last original thinker who leaves Hollywood please turn out the lights..
Wow, this is looking really good, Hopkins and Weaving in one movie is always nice, and finally a good werewolf movie again! None of that lovey dovey stuff
This looks like a re-make of American Werewolf in London, only put through a CGI and dialogue grinder.
How anybody can express anticipation for this thing is beyond me, but then again, I didn’t see Battleship Earth.
Trailer looks pretty good!!
@Sir Eddie Cook ‘Will it make money? Of course not.’
You clearly have no idea how the movie industry works.
This movie will make a shed load of money regardless of how good it is… (it’s actually very good).
Do some of you even like movies?
Have never been interested in this topic before but will absolutely pay to see it.
As to those questioning why Uni made this in the first place, the logic goes something like this: if THE MUMMY can spawn a highly profitable franchise,(and if even VAN HELSING made a buck), just imagine if somebody remade an old horror film- BUT ACTUALLY MADE AN EFFORT TO BE A HALF-DECENT MOVIE. (Again, I’m highly sympathetic- but I have even less faith in modern audiences than they do.But don’t worry, with all the delays, re-shootings, and behind the scenes bait-and-switch, they may still be able to dumb it down enough…)
First Che Guevara, and now the Wolfman. I see Benicio Del Toro is not afraid of being typecast playing monsters…
