There’s a feeding frenzy among Hollywood agencies for director David Fincher, who left CAA some weeks back. As everyone knows, Fincher is extremely hard to please. Good luck with that.
And agent-turned-manager David Lonner steered Brad Silberling to UTA from WME. The writer/director coming off the disastrous Land Of The Lost will be repped by a team headed by David Kramer and Lonner’s longtime Endeavor/Morris pal Steve Rabineau who left for UTA during the merger.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

why would anybody want to be Fincher’s agent? he’s a bigger prima donna than most actresses.
big primadonna so what? who gives a…? he is one hell of a director. period.
Siberling is untalented and empty. How did he come this far? The guy is smooth and says absolutely nothing. His films are terrible. He wants to appear noble and good and admirable but he’s self aggrandizing and talent free. It is incredible how having the right friends, some long hair and wearing a rope bracelet makes corporate types believe beneath his thrown together exterior lies a beating heart and the soul of an artist. It couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Brad Silberling will be lucky to get a job directing traffic after Land Of The Lost.
Moonlight Mile is a truly Great FIlm. Brad should stop doing Kids films. he is way too talented for them.
Depends why you’re in the business, I guess. I mean, except for a few, you could probably make better money in a real profession than as an agent.
So just maybe the reason someone would want to be Fincher’s agent is because, you know, he’s a fucking genius. You’ve got to wash the taste of insert-name-here-like-oh-say-McG out of your mouth somehow.
Two directors that can’t open a movie changed agents.
What a surprise.
I’ve worked with Fincher and I’d sooner eat glass than work with him again. Prima donna doesn’t describe him properly. “Insecure” is a far better description. A supposed perfectionist who only seems that way because he’s paranoid — has no confidence in his own ideas, so instead he belittles others to appear superior. Doesn’t understand human emotion, but fakes it skillfully. Once described his own agents as ticks. I suppose it takes one to know one.
Rabineau is the best thing to happen to UTA in years. Mark my words as they build up their director stable and get back into packaging.
Moonlight Mile was an utter piece of garbage…that guy has never made anything close to an even watchable flick
I feel sorry for the poor sap who takes Fincher in.
Fincher is a genius? He’s not even a director.
He’s a cinematographer.
For a guy who claims to be a perfectionist with CG, Benjamin Button’s effects looked like Lemony Snicket reject shots.
