UPDATES Michael Bay: “I Don’t Condone Crew Letter Or Megan Fox Quotes”
UPDATES Michael Bay’s Crew Bitchslaps Megan Fox
Enter Megan Fox’s flacks into the fray between the Transformers franchise actress and the pic’s director Michael Bay and the pic’s crew members. (Gee, ya think this all might be timed to the soon-to-be-released DVD?) Anyway, Megan’s publicist gave this non-statement to EW: “I have spoken with the parties involved privately. I am very fortunate to be involved in this amazing franchise and look forward to Transformers 3.” Interesting that now everything is private after Megan started the brouhaha by going public in the first place.
Meanwhile, Megan’s flack has provided the media another letter, this time signed and defending the actress from a production assistant. He writes:
My name is Anthony Steinhart and I have worked on both Transformers movies and have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Fox.
I read the letter by the three unnamed crew people and was blown away by their description of Ms. Fox. Especially, since I am the one usually getting Ms. Fox at her trailer. I have personally never been nor ever witnessed Ms. Fox being rude or inconsiderate of people’s feelings or the work to be done. Everyone is entitled to their good days and bad. Contrary to popular belief, she is like us (human) and has both good and bad days as well. Working on the Transformers movies can be intense at times and sometimes intense situations cause intense moments.
Some of the examples the three unnamed writers give as evidence of Ms. Fox and her horrible attitude are so ridiculous.
It’s unfortunate the grip didn’t want to bring his daughter to set because Megan Fox wasn’t nice and not the fact that we had a closed to set. No visitors unless approved by the UPM [unit production manager]. That is what the call sheets have always said. By the way, Ms. Fox wished my 12-year-old brother a happy birthday over the phone while we were shooting in New Mexico. Not so heartless…
It’s also unfortunate that she didn’t attend any of the “15” parties, but I clearly remember her hanging out in New Mexico with some of the crew and watching her get hounded by passers-by as she walked through the hotel lobby and being nothing but gracious to her fans. Also isn’t it refreshing to hear that she doesn’t need to be a part of the party machine that sometimes swallows people whole, only to spit them out on the front page of every magazine. And incidentally, if these crew members were at the wrap party, I only saw 2 cast members there. Granted I wasn’t there the whole night, but I was there long enough to know that the others probably weren’t going to show.
I also remember walking with her through the hordes of people lined up, while we shot at Princeton and she signed autograph after autograph. She signed many publicity photos, magazines, pieces of white paper for crew members and their families. Now I know that isn’t the same as curing a disease, but if we are to take anything an actor/actress says or does to personally, then I fear we have far greater problems on our hands.
Unfortunately, I don’t always keep up with or hang on to quotes and/or quips “actresses” say, so I wasn’t familiar with the incident that incited the tasteless letter, but none-the-less leave the war of words to those involved. No need to drag her name through the mud and at the same time, unknowingly, bring others down.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Everyone compares her to Angelina… but maybe they should compare her to paris instead…
Megan PR keep pushing up hill to no avail. I worked both shows. I’m a woman. She is a full on bitch. Anthony is a sweet boy but such a low pawn in this stupid war of words. If Megan had a few more manners this would all go away…………
I love how you rip Bay. He has only worked with the two greatest producers in the business: Spielberg, Bruckheimer. I guess they keep hiring him because as noted above he’s “white trash”. He’s made over 3 billion at the box office………Anyone of you studio yaks would hire him to save your jobs cause you know you’ll be fired in three years. Get real here. Hollywood is so tweaked!
Am I being too cynical in thinking that all of this “Megan Fox is a mean girl” junk is conveniently coming out in the week leading up to the release of “Jennifer’s Body” starring Megan Fox as a mean girl from hell? Isn’t this all just a bunch of 21st century movie publicity? AM I being too cynical????
I have never known a crew member to go against another crew member. How does this make any sense? Especially since first team PA’s don’t fraternize with the talent…they do their jobs, wait outside the trailers, and get them to set. None of these letters confirm anything, it’s all allegedly and a waste of time on everyone’s behalf. The dumb girl said what she said, and that’s it. Move one. If anything, she should get a pay cut, or her role cut in the next film since apparently she doesn’t want to work with the director. Said from the horses mouth – her own.
Mr. Steinhart is the real deal. I just found this interview of Megan Fox talking about Transformers 2 and she mentions a FRIEND PA who runs basecamp called Anthony. here’s the link: She mentions him about 1 minute 20 seconds into the interview

Just wanted the clip…Megan Fox says “a friend of ours (shia’s as well) called Anthony who is a PA” It’s gotta be the same guy who wrote the last letter. I’m sticking with Steinhart’s story.
Who cares whether it fits the model of business grammar, Bob? It does something much better–it sounds like a real person writing real thoughts.
Frankly I don’t know who wrote either the 3 crew members letter or the PA one, but if Michael Bay wrote the first, and the second was solicited, they still both sound genuine. I’m highly entertained! The creativity evident here is of much better quality than most of the scripts that make it to screen.
In fact, I would think this interchange is being spun into scripted gold even as we speak;-)
I thought everyone knew the moment it was released that Bay paid someone capable of stringing a sentence together to write that “crew letter.”
I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone once the guys and gals heard that Megan Fox wasn’t going to be in the 3rd movie they about fell outta their chairs so I am writing this to let the asshole that dismissed her know that because she isn’t a pro as they call it that Transformers will not be the same. Megan was great and the 2 movies, I’m sure the 3rd one will so suck without her in it…..
