Triple Threat Simon Pegg Heads For UTA

A team of UTA agents led by board member Tracey Jacobs has signed actor-writer-producer Simon Pegg away from CAA over the Labor Day weekend. The triple threat is a household name in the UK, but has become a hot property in Hollywood after writing, starring and producing comedy spoofs Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, each of which made big moolah for Working Title and Rogue especially overseas. J.J. Abrams cast him as Scotty in Star Trek ,and Steven Spielberg cast him as Inspector Thompson in his upcoming The Adventures Of Tintin. Pegg just co-wrote, produced and starred opposite Jason Bateman, Seth Rogen and Kristin Wiig in Paul which Greg Mottola directed for Working Title. I’m told he continues to be represented by his UK agent, Dawn Sedgwick.
