Boo Fucking Hoo.
This merger news was exciting back in April. Now it’s just sad…
Whatever.
You mean they’re actually going to give out regular bonuses? I’ll believe it when I see it.
Bonus time came last year at WMA when Jim and the boys sold the buildings. Bonus time came early for Ari and the boys when WMA overpaid to be the in the star client business. I don’t think anyone from WME will get a bonus in the usual sense. I bet it will go something like this, “We wanted to tell you how great you’re doing, how well liked you are internally and around town. Also, we want to let you know that you get to stay employed, for the moment; a bonus for you, we’re sure. Happy Hannuka and Merry Christmas. See you in two weeks, muthafucker.
The bonus is you get to keep your job until December.
So, let me get this straight.
There’s a mere two-month delay, but everyone is getting their bonuses?
That seems…. terribly reasonable.
Wow… what a compelling, newsworthy “nugget” this was, Nikke!
How naive of you to beleive that something an agent says will happen may actually happen.
In other words you believe an agents promises.
That is so cute.
That isn’t that abnormal when two companies merge- they are probably using William Morris’ fical year calendar.
Sigh. I don’t have too much sympathy for all those over-paid, expense-account WME agents who’ve had their highly lucrative huge bonuses (slightly) delayed until closer to the holidays – esp when there remain thousands of hard-working people working below them in the entertainment industry – at studios, networks, agencies, management firms, and guilds/unions – who tirelessly work their asses off day in & day out 24/7 to make this town run on a daily basis and NEVER see a bonus whatsoever, rarely if ever see overtime pay, even a mere pittance $$ as a gesture for all of their unrecognized efforts. I know, I know: that’s the way it is & it comes with the territory and if you don’t like it, lump it, but it still doesn’t excuse the kind of pervasive selfish, unethical, cavalier, and Type-A behavior that defines Hollywood. “Happy Holidays”
Need time to figure out how much to reduce bonuses this year.
people still get bonuses?
