2ND UPDATE: WME says its head of East Coast Television and Lifestyle & Branding Group head Jon Rosen is staying with the agency. This despite several sources close to Rosen claiming he asked to be let out of his contract in order to start his own business. NY-based Rosen is a former William Morris “old school” agent with 17 years experience. WME does confirm that Rosen’s contract with Morris was up around the time of the merger, and that he signed another deal that has an out clause coming up in June. Rosen’s pals say WME’s Ari Emanuel told him, “You need to show up for work every day, and on the last day of your contract I’ll walk you to the door.” But WMA sources insist Rosen has had ”many, many conversations with Ari and inner circle board members that have been very positive about his future here.” Rosen’s clients include Rachael Ray, Al Roker, Bobby Flay, Lara Spencer, Donnie Deutsch, Lisa Ling, production companies and executive producers.

Wow, WME. You went from the two spot (maybe) to the bottom in no time. Crash and burn.
Payback’s a bitch.
Does anyone know how to get hold of Jon Rosen
apparently no longer at WMA and they will not provide any info
respond to Jim@jmolc.com if have info. THANKS
Non-fiction agent???
Does that mean he/she really exists. Sorry, just wanted to lighten things up before everyone started the bashing. Nice windy day. Reminds me of Chicago.
Nice comment. Reminds me of all the hard-fought turf wars in Highland Park. Oh, wait…
why does ari want people there who don’t want to be there? talk about fucked up management. How many more lives much be destroyed by this.
“You need to show up for work every day, and on the last day of your contract I’ll walk you to the door.” -Ari the Impaler
Wow, that’s comforting. Makes one want to show up. What an inspiring leader. Why would anyone believe anything Ari Emanuel says? After this train wreck why would anyone want WME to represent them? Why would anyone want to do business with this viper Emanuel?
WME is a fucking mess. I call for all pissed WME clients to come to the “I’m an ignored WME client” mixer this Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills at 6:00 PM.
I am inviting all rival agents, as well as all pissed WME clients. WME agents will be asked to leave. And we won’t call you back.
It should be fun.
Soon-to-be-ex WME client!
Do you think Jon Rosen might go work with his pal Brian Stern who left during the merger.
Please quote Ari as often as possible because I read his quotes with Jeremy Piven’s voice in my head and it makes DHD that much more enjoyable…
Jon probably realized soon after he signed with WME that it was a mistake, everyone was hoping for the best with the merger but it didn’t turn out that way, except for a select few. After WME let almost 300 people go the atmosphere we hear is toxic. If he was able to leave right now he probably would. Ferriter, Rosen…. who’s next?
Charlie — seriously?
Jon Rosen – another Former board member, who’s next? Suzanne Gluck or Cara Stein…place your bets
I can’t help but just laugh at all of these comments. WME is in shambles right now yes, but give it time. No, I am not Ari, nor do I work for, or claim to be represented by WME, but I can see what they’re doing. While their perception in the industry happens to be quite messy, they have all the fundamentals of a good agency. Think of it as them fine tuning a guitar right now, and people are criticizing them for making noise while they do it. Everything this agency does right now is under the gun and scrutinized as something horrible, when really these are just natural happenings that occur within a merger. All the elements are there to make this thing work, it just needs time.
Uh, could you please elaborate on what those “fundamentals” are? And what those “elements” are?
Jay, what’s funny is I remember years ago someone saying that same thing about AMG…
By start his own business, do you mean his own agency, or would he follow a lot of ex-agents into management?
Jon Rosen will not follow the ex-agents because the ex-agents were fired! You are fired! All of them and this means whatever you hear from these ex-agents they were fired! They were underperforming, guys mostly, hanging on to their good fortune of not being noticed. Mr. Rosen whom I know well is a mensch. In case you are not Jewish this means all around good guy. He remembers is friends and could care less about his enemies. He is the anti-thesis of a Ben Silverman who had morons working for him at Reveille and then went solo. Mr. Rosen is special. He is loved from the mailroom to his stomach and up to the top where guys like Ari are hated. Read my note. This young man is the next billionaire to come from Hollywood. Mark this down Nikke!
