Scott Wexler was an agent, then manager, and eventually became an ICM agent again after being brought in by Toni Howard about a year ago. Now he’ll return to managing by landing at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. “He was more of a manager than an agent in his approach to the number of clients he wanted to work with,” an agency insider tells me. “We made it very easy for Brillstein to hire him.”

“his approach to the number of clients he wanted to work with”
I am assuming that means he wanted to work with LESS clients and not stock up on names whilst really only servicing his top 10 % money-makers… Someone once explained that managers work for all their clients or do not take them on whereas agents act in the manner described above, hoping for the other 90% they horde to pop on their own efforts…
Any truth to this?
Will someone please explain – for real.
Thank You.
Very nice guy who was an ICM agent in NY before he was a 3Arts manager, then became an agent again. Disagree with the “agency insider” though. He is an agent at heart. Not in the sharky sense, but because he has no interest in the little details. He is all about staff meetings, submissions and getting jobs. He’s not a Brillstein guy.
This was to free up money for joanne wiles and bonnie bernstein. Had nothing to do with him wanting to be a manager.
this guy MADE josh lucas. only problem is, nobody knows who that is…
Brillstein hired him as a favor to Toni Howard. She felt bad about having to let him go and she continues to own him.
What is with you snide, hateful, disgusting people?!? Who are you to anonymously deride Wexler or how this whole experience went down. He is a human being with a good career ahead of him, and it makes me disgusted to be a member of an industry where people can anonymously defame someone like this — it’s like a public stoning where those with rocks in their hands are masked. Stop it. These are people’s lives you are hurting. One day your name might be up here for all to see.
Hear hear! There’s no reason for any of us to speculate. This is a f’ed up site when this happens. Leave the guy alone and let him succeed in peace!
Thanks for someone finally saying it.
Wexler is a nice enough guy and a decent second tier manager. He also worked with Aleen Keshishian and Joanne Colonna of BEP when they were all at The Firm together – two women who are also tight with Toni Howard.
